Last Weekend/Daughter's Day.

Apr 27, 2006 23:34

Sooo last weekend was the end of vacation. Casey and I went to Newbury Street one day and Cambridge the next. I didn't get the chance to post them before (I did actually, I was just too lazy) SO i'm doing it now.

WARNING: There's a CRAPLOAD of pictures behind these cuts!

Casey drove into Boston. (She's got a permit, thus I was in the backseat.)

We shopped around for a while and then got hungry. So we went to Legal Seafoods for dinner!

On the way out of the mall, we played CRAZED PAPPARAZZI and attacked her mum.

Then, on the ride home, we stuck our heads out the window and tried to take pictures. I was an evil pirate kitten (I guess?).

We stopped for gas in Malden and thuoght of awarding them for their spelling accomplishments.

And then we drove home like the crazies we are in the backseat.

The NEXT day, MY dad took us to the Garment District in Cambridge.
You might THINK he's on the T, but he's not!

Casey got her beer goggles on. BUT DON'T WORRY! It was totally legal.

After that, we went creepin' up the street...

...and ended up at the Cambridge Brewing Company for lunch!

Our waiter was real nice...

...even when we were a little rude!

We started to get a little restless...

...so we went for a walk.

After jumping around for a bit...

...we ran back into Dad workin' the corner like he always does.

So we went on a hunt for chocolate chip cookies and found ourselves in the parking garage for the Cambridge Side Galleria.

We jumped on the elevator...

...found our cookies, ate them, and headed home.

Today was Daughter's Day at work. I went in hopes of seeing Catherine and Krystal from last year and hey, GUESS WHAT! They were even in my group! Oh wait, that's because we were teh three oldest people there by TWO grades!!!

Dad and I left late and there was a really bad accident on the high way so we were almost late getting there.

As SOON as I walked into the door, I was greeted by these two crazies...

We grabbed breakfast from the little buffet. Krystal HAPPENED to grab the love child of an orange, Jesus Christ, and a chocolate chip cookie. THey call it a "Glowing Orange Chocolate Chip Muffin".

We didn't trust it, it wasn't eaten.
Soon after, we shared a Converse Love moment.

And were sent to the first break-out session- telecommunications.

The guy running it quickly ran out of things to say so Catherine played with the plastic hand on his desk....

And boy, if I had that view out of MY office window, I'd never miss a day of work!

After that was over, some kids needed to take a pit stop. BUT the girls were being hoes so Catherine didn't want to go into the girls' room when they were in there. She found another solution...

...but she didn't actually go in there. When some kid asked what we were doing and I said "...nooooothinggggg...." he muttered, "What a bitch..." and walked away. RUDE LITTLE EIGHTH GRADERS!!!
Anyway, next up, we got split into two groups. Catherine got the shaft but Krystal and I got stuck together...
Group #1

Group #2

We were a bit excited once we were reunited...

AND THEN IT WAS LUNCH TIME!
So we waited for the parents to come get us in the lobby...

...and waited...

...and picked a fake flower...

...and tackled eachother...

...and waited.

But Dad showed up eventually and we went to the cafeteria. Don't worry, it's MUCH nicer than the one at the high school.
While at lunch, we decided to be cliche and take pictures in the bathroom(not to mention hide from the parents). So we went into the bathroom. And KRYSTAL TURNED THE LIGHTS OUT!

She told us she was going to pretend to scare us and we should pretend to scream when I took the picture but when it flashed, she looked REALLY scary and I actually screamed really loud.

Right after that, we decided to be like 007/Charlie's Angels and take creepy shots of Dad without him noticing.

But we got BUSTED!

SO WE RAN BACK INTO THE BATHROOM and pretended to be ROCK STARS!!

And then went and hung out in the lobby again only this time, we were upside down.

In the third break-out session, we talked about sorting and the web and did sudoku! The guy was telling me some pretty cool stuff so Catherine stole my camera...

...and took a picture of Krystal's work of art.

After that session, we lost Krystal because she tried to be cool and take teh stiars but the stairs really connected to the other building and outside, NOT where we were going. So Catherine and I revisited the bathroom we took pictures in last year and took NEW ones.

But Krystal found us QUICK and joined in the last bathroom picture...

And even though were in Group G, Catherine and I were mentally in Group C. Check the nameness.

At the final Closing Ceremony, I got bored and started working in my activity book...
...so Catherine stole my camera...again.

So let's compare, shall we?
Last Year:

(I don't know why it's so big, Phtobucket says it's little pixel-wise...)

And Now:

PS Last year, our group did a Security break-out session at the Camberidge Side Galleria and met this security guard named Will. If you check my post about last year's daughter's day, you'll find pictures with him. We went to the mall at lunch today and talked to his boss and had him MEET us outside of Claire's and get this- HE REMEMBERED US JUST LIKE WE REMEMBERED HIM! We had to tell him that we had come to Daughter's Day last year but as soon as we mentioned it he goes "God, you girls have GROWN!" It was great. Creepy, yes....but great.
