Christmas Frenzy (and it didn't even involve shopping)

I've never fallen asleep in class, at least not any time I remember. Yesterday, however, I was so tired that my elbow kept slipping on the desk as I tried to stay awake in math class. Waves of sleep crashed down on my like some sort of giant tidal wave - I fought to stay awake in that class.

Christmas has pounced on me. I heard someone say, "Only ten days until Christmas left!" and I was surprised. Is the year ending so soon?

I saw Laine in the hallway today. I really, really miss her. Being silly around my little sister is great and all, but everybody needs a friend that they can shed all dignity with.

Once again, I helped out at Santa Day at one of the middle schools. Parents take their kids to pick out free gifts, receive freebies, and take a picture with Santa. While charity and good will is fulfilling, I saw two kids wearing Fubu jackets to this event. Fubu is expensive designer wear, and if their parents couldn't afford one gift for their kids, why did they buy them Fubu?

The gifts were all pretty nice. The caliber of some of that stuff wasn't ever given to me. I have to question of the choices made though. There were several ON TOUR Spice Girl dolls. I spotted Posh Spice and Scary Spice. I also saw Green Day's album "Dookie." Some of the songs in there aren't all that appropriate for 9-12 year-olds.

Even though I was there to help little kids pick out the presents, the middle school "elves" did most of the work. There was this one preteen girl who reminded me of a senior from last year. She was petite and extremely thin, wearing an Abercrombie & Fitch shirt and faded jeans that showed off her toothpick figure. If I stood next to her, it seem like I had the figure of Mariah Carey. This girl was thin. She seemed to have the personality of that senior, who was pretty popular. She also had those thick eyebrows that added to her looks instead of taking away from them. She was so upbeat -gah, it pains me. She was doing a good job - I think I was intimidating the kids.

I went to the Empy Bowls Banquet after dinner and bought a clay cup. It's green and shiny and only $4. I think I did my good deeds for today - now it's time to go (not) study for my quizzes.
