Call me racist all you want, but I don't give a crap about the races of the Last Airbender cast. I really don't.

I read an interview that explicitly stated that M. Night said himself that he was looking for actors/actresses that SOUNDED the most like the original cast. NOT for actors/actresses that LOOKED the most like them.
This isn't directed at anybody in particular, but this whole thing has got me confused as to why this is "OMG SUCH A BIG DEAL AND OMG M. NIGHT SHYAMALAN IS SO RACIST"
I just don't get it.
Seriously, what is the big freaking deal? So what if they aren't the "proper" race? They made it past the auditions because they could do martial arts AND BECAUSE THEY SOUNDED LIKE MAE WHITMAN, JACK DE SENA, ZACH TYLER EISEN, AND DANTE BASCO. Not because they were Asian or white or whatever.

I really don't get what the big deal is.
