When the lights go out, and the song comes on

(Ok so this is kind of a dream of mine, and to get the full affect, I'd like it if you'd listen to "Flightless Bird, American Mouth". Yes, I'm aware this entire scene was pretty much stolen from Twilight, but come on, it's a pretty fuckin awesome scene.)

Prom was supposed to be the best night of a girls life, every girl would sit in class and daydream about the boy they would get asked to prom by, and even more, how amazing they would look walking down those stairs to a doe eyed boy. But the last thing on this girls mind was what was going down at the high school, because her high school fantasy was coming true right there, in that moment. The ground in the park was frosted over, a light snow falling, frozen fog drifting around the air. It was cold, no doubt. In the middle of the park was a small pond, and next to that pond, a gazebo, draped with white Christmas lights all over the roofs edge, and along the rail confining the small area usually used for public use, benches lining the outside, a small chandelier, lighting the gazebo, revealing the dark oak flooring. Inside the gazebo, was two girls, both dressed in prom wear, one in a strapless silver dress with a black sash around the waist, the other in an almost childish pink dress, poofing slightly after the waistband, and ending just before her knees. The girl in the silver was pale, red hair straightened and pulled into a low bun, sparkly silver headband in her hair. The other had tan skin, and dark brown hair flowing over her shoulders, ending just past her chest. The two both wore flats for shoes, rather than your typical heels, revealing that they were both very short. They were embracing, one with her arms wrapped snuggly around the girl in the pinks waist, and the other with her arms tight around the girls upper waist. There was little to no space between them, the brunette had her chin nestled in the pale girls neck, like a puzzle fits perfectly, the fit couldn’t be more ideal, while the red head looked out over the small pond, the lights reflecting off the water in such a surreal way that it looked like a scene from a movie. The two swayed back and forth with the song “Flightless Bird, American Mouth” as it played softly from a boom box set on one of the benches surrounding them. As the girls breathed in and out, you could see their breath escape their lips then disappear, and their legs covered in goose bumps, but the cold didn’t seem to disturb them to the least, in fact, it was about as plain as day that there was no place either of them would rater be in that moment
