I am afraid that civilization itself, right back to the development of land ownership and agriculture, is inherently sexist. Not necessarily patriarchal, but since the dawn of technology men have used their small yet crucial left-brain spatial/abstract advantage to fashion a world based on economic utility, where the things THEY do get valued twice as much as the things WOMEN do.

I am afraid that no-one in our lifetime or in the lifetimes of 25 coming generations can possibly have the genius and power to reverse this inherent flaw.

I am also afraid that there is something inherent in general male psychology that makes this situation so. Everywhere, all over the world, there is an obsession with control over women... women as property, as posessions, as sexual objects to be harnessed for the stability and well-being of male-dominated cultures.

Anyway, I hope none of this is true.

As you hint, the solution lies not in women necessarily doing anything differently (ie climbing those ancient and corrupt structures of power) but in people changing their perceptions of what women already do.
