first, to tell you the truth, sometimes i pick the title of these entries by looking at the add on the side of the screen and writing down whatever they say hahaha.  today's entry is brought to you by Reuters: insight.  something like that...lol.

so i was thinking about it today and yesterday and even before then; it's really been something i'd like to do for a while...
i want to write a book.
seriously.
i mean, i'm going to have to write something anyway right?  if i plan on getting a doctorate in psychology.
it's not going to do much specifically in the field i'd like to go in, assuming i go with abnormal (or maybe child?  who knows?) psychology...
but i've already got the title for one of my books:
"Stop Being Sad and be Awesome Instead."
inspired by mr. NPH of course LOL.
btw, apparently he came out and said he was gay?!?!?  wtf?!?!?!?
but seriously, after listening to the radio today, talking last night with amanda about how pathetic it is to go into self-loathing sometimes and how even more pathetic are the things we do and say when we're in that state, and even throwing a couple of our own stories for reasons of hostility and depression, this title just dawned on me.
totally a self-help book, but whatever.  usually the people that read them need the help anyway haha.
basically the title says it all.
i'm not going to go in to a big discussion about how this book is gonna go, that'd take too long and i'd probably end up writing the book in a ridiculously long blog entry here on live journal.  but yeah...

yesterday was awesomeness!
volunteering at the hospital.  it was cool...minus the incredible AWKWARDNESS...let's not talk about it.

afterwards i went home and changed, picked up jac from school, dropped her off then met up with amanda at taco bell.
we didn't eat though haha.
instead we went to the end of the line cafe.
OMG, it's been FIVE YEARS this june since i've been there.  seriously, WEIRD.  it's changed a bit; it's an actual cafe with chairs and tables and like pictures people have drawn, etc all over.  a total 'decorate with what you have' kind of place.  but yeah, it was just weird, but an interesting enough experience.
we went there to meet up with amanda's ex-step-sister.  yeah lol.
we waited a while till she came and when she finally did they sat and talked for a while.
she seemed pretty cool.  she invited us to go somewhere to play hackey sack but we passed because we both suck at it lol.
afterwards we left to go switch cars with jet cause my dad needed the truck to go to work and yeah.
we waited for jet at her work for a while because she had gone on break and while waiting amanda showed me the AWESOME earrings and pendants and stuff that she'd made.  she gave me some of them, which are totally great.  a couple pairs of different of cup cake earrings that are so cute!  some wings earrings and some sakura earrings.  lovely.
when jet came we left and went to the mall.  wandered around for a bit, got sucked in to the 10 for 10 area at claires and we both bought some jewelry and hair junk.
after that we went to pick up my mom.  then we dropped her off at her house so she could get her car.
she followed us to my house and i dropped off my mom at home.
then we went to the ale house to meet up with ben and tabatha for ben's birthday dinner.
they hadn't left their house yet so we sat at the front and talked for a while.
then ben and tabatha arrived and it ended up just being us four because brian decided to go home thinking they weren't going to eat.  jet joined us too after she got off of work just in time for us to sit down and get our menus.
we all sat around and talked and laughed it and it was really fun.

i was really happy that everyone, ben and tabatha i mean, got along with amanda.  ben had never met her.  tabatha had though, but it wasn't like a hang out and actually get to know each other kind of meeting.  it was more of a go to the movies, sit in a dark theater where no one should really be having conversations kind of meeting, so she might as well not have met her hahaha.  jet always got along with her lol.  but yeah not that i thought they'd all hate each other, but it was like having a conversation and everyone had stuff to contribute and it wasn't just a bunch of awkward silences or moments you know?  we all laughed, and very appreciatively i might add, at everyone's jokes.  WE TALKED ABOUT MUSIC.  it was music in general, like ben asked us about emo-music and somehow hip-hop was thrown in there and everyone's opinions were relevant.
can i tell you another of the fifty bajillion reasons as to why my friends are awesome?
because i feel like the reasons why they like the music they like, whether it be rock or hip hop or rap or indie, whatever, is because of some inexplicable, deep appreciation for the sound and lyrics and overall effect of the music which certain artists create.   basically, our tastes in music represent our appreciation for the artful aspect of music.
it's not about fucking what's popular now.
it's not about giving two shits what everyone else thinks is good music.
it's not about looking cool and COMPLETELY JUST BEING UN-OPINIONATED, AND TRYING TO FIT IN WITH EVERYONE ELSE THUS FORCING THEIR TASTES ONTO YOURSELF AND PLAYING IT OFF AS THOUGH YOU'RE SOME KIND OF ORIGINAL BUT IN ACTUALITY YOU'RE JUST A  WANNABE.
NO.

like i said, my friends are aaaawesome.

something i found out yesterday too...people actually know me and think of me as the girl who knows a good bit about anime.
i don't know why i was taken aback by this hahaha, but i mean really?
i'm not one of those weird kids that run around in capes reading fanfiction and doing cosplay.
i'm not even one of those kids that has a huge ass collection of manga and anime.
i do love anime, i do love reading my share of mangas and i do know that some people know this...
but others i'm like really?  they know that about me?  hahahaha.
it came from talking about speed racer with tabatha.
the night she went was the same night i went and saw it by myself.
i saw it before she did and she called and asked if i wanted to go see it with her, ben, kenny, brian, etc.
i told her that i had JUST came from watching it and yeah, i passed.
but i also told her that it was AWESOME AND LIKE THE BEST MOVIE EVERRRRR!
when they went to watch the movie, apparently brian was very anxious to see how it would come out with the belief that it would suck.
i mean, c'mon.  i've said it before, I HATE LIVE ACTION MOVIES.
(ok, wait, there was one live action show that kara showed me, the music one?  that one was pretty cool)  but for the most part, i hate them.
so i'm thinking brian had the same idea.
he's thinking the movie's going to suck and tabatha's just like 'but jennifer said it was really, really good!'
and brian like automatically takes her word of my word on the movie and is like 'ahhh, she's really likes anime!  this WILL be good!'
and i'm like really??
no joke or sarcasm on this?
and yeah, it ended up i guess that everyone loved the movie ^_^
so yeah, that was cool lol.

i need to dye my hair today, seriously.
i volunteer again tomorrow...hopefully i won't be just wandering around thinking of things to do hahaha.
aaaand yeah.

volunteering, speed racer pwns my life!, my life is a string of awkward moments, best friends, neil ptatrick harris
