wowowowowowowowow, John Mayer concert totally rocked! It was freaking awesome, I had the BEST time!!!! It was soooo great...better than I expected
Dani came over to my house then we drove and picked up Laura and Julie and off we went to Irvine. There was a lot of traffic and we got there kinda late (the concert was supposed to start at 7:30 and we got there right at 7:30).
By the time we got dinner and bought stuff there(i got a cute john shirt and an i-pod mini holder that has John on it, totaly hawt, Maroon 5 had already gone on-stage and played a few songs. Maroon 5 was AWESOME! wow, i saw them last year when they opened for John Mayer at Staples Center and they were great then and they were great now. I loved the part when the lead singer (Adam) played the drums while the real drummer went up to the mic and sang and played guitar. haha good times. I took a lot of pics of Maroon 5, and Adam (just for you Teresa!)
After they left the stage, they set up for John and he had such an awsome set-up. It was like 3 seperate pannels, kinda like an oriental theme, and there was rugs on the stage for him and Dela (base player) and Chaves (guitar player). It was cool, i liked it.
John was great, as usual, he was onstage for like 1.5 hrs. He played the usual stuff, Your Body Is A Wonderland & Why Georgia & No Such Thing, but for this one song, Wheel, he made the whole audience sing this same lyric while he sang the song and it was cool. This guy came on, his name was DJ Logic, and he mixed music for John on this one song by Marvin Gaye, Inner City Blues, great song, totally downloaded it when i got home.
I took a TON of pictures, lol, i think my parents were a little pissed, i think it came out to be like 150 pictures i took or sumthing, lol, u gotta love the john. When he was all done and left the stage, people started yelling and screaming for more and he came back onstage for an encore, he played like 4 songs, and it was all acoustic, just him, no band or anything, it was really good.
All in all the concert was awsome and I can't wait to go again. I was soooo proud of Julie, she knew a lot of the songs, and the black girl sitting behind us screaming at everyone to shuttup was pretty classic. O ya, john totally grabbing his own ass and talking about it to the audience was hillarious too.
I'm not really doing anything today, just hanging out, I miss all you guys and can't wait to see all of you soon!
PEACE!
