Garden State is simply this.....
A movie created from a bunch of trendy songs. Seriously. The entire movie was created around that soundtrack...LAME. The movie itself at times I felt was trying to be too trendy and differnet when in actuallity every scenerio was just random and thrown in your face and ended up being a cliche' college film. The director was the main actor.....= a sort of self obsessive/masterbation fest for himself. I hope he never makes another film in his life.

Sorry for the negative comment. Im just sick of college film kids at the moment, and the film had the effect of smelling old beer the morning after partying a little too hard the previous night and puking your brains out.

i guess there are some things about that movie that really struck a chord with me. i thought it was cool to see the main actor in something other than scrubs though. and the only songs i recognized from the soundtrack before i saw the movie was the shins songs. which are some pretty good songs. but... different strokes for different folks.
