Happy Thanksgiving!!!

'Sup y'all.

Had a pretty good thanksgiving. Had Thanksgiving "Dinner" at home with the immediate family around 1, then went to my aunt's house for pie, coffee, booze, and football with the extended family. Everyone was there, which was cool. Many of them I don't see much at all, as some live in Maryland and some in Florida. I got to meet my cousin's fiance, Mike. It'll be a pain having another Mike at family events, but he seems cool. Anyway, I left my aunt's around 5ish, and headed up to Maine (where I am now). My dad just closed on a house in Portland. It's got 4 apartments...he and his girlfriend Charlotte are living in one and he's renting out the other 3. Anyway, I got up here and was promptly put to work helping dad and Charlotte move in. Luckily, as I didn't get in 'till a little before 9, they were mostly done with the days work, so I only had to do a little before we decided to stop and have a few beers. Dad and Charlotte went to bed a couple hours ago. I, however, don't usually go to bed 'till the wee hours of the morning. Luckily, someone around here has a wireless internet connection I can mooch off of for the evening!

Went to see 311 with Mike Wood last night. They put on a pretty good show. It was general admission, so Mike and I fought our way to the front of the crowd. I was just a few feet from the band. Alien Ant Farm opened. They sucked. Everyone in the crowd was booing them and chanting "311, 311, 311...". I felt kinda bad for them, but that's what they get for SUCKING!!! 311 rocked, though. Seeing them perform "Who's Got The Herb?" live rocked, especially since all you could smell was grass and all you could see when you looked above the heads of the crowd was huge puffs of smoke. :-D

I picked up the new SOAD cd, "Hypnotize", yesterday as well. I've listened to it a few times now and I quite like it. Which brings me to my next subject. As a hobby, I like to write cd reviews. Many of you know how opinionated I am about music. However, I haven't shared many as I've never been that confident about my writing skills. So, I've decided I wanna start posting a few here to see what you, my friends, think. I plan on starting with a review of both of System's 2005 releases, "Mezmerize" and "Hypnotize". I will hopefully be posting that within a few days.

I ended up writing much more than I intended. Oh well...if you didn't care about what I had to say, you wouldn't read! I'm gonna run outside for a cigarette now, but I wanna leave y'all with something. I don't know the owner of the LJ this was posted in, but a link to it was posted in a community I'm in. It's a very touching LJ entry. http://www.livejournal.com/users/catelin/179683.html
