What can I say? Last night sucked!! (Though I know
laney895 was thrilled to see her boys get the victory…and for Laynce to do so well.) As I told Mayra the other day, I would rather get blown out than to lose by 1 run…cause when you only lose by 1 you’re left wondering if that one play you didn’t make or one hit that didn’t fall would have been the difference. If you get slaughtered you know it was a team effort. Last night was mostly a pitching problem…you must hit your spots!! I wasn’t shocked by the outcome (the loss), but the total did hurt (11-3). For some inexplicable reason the Angels are at a complete loss when they face a rookie pitcher…not that they kill all the veterans, but it seems they are more uncomfortable with the unknown. Tuesday night they managed 1 run off the rookie, last night 2. And what the heck is going on with my defense…that’s been our strong suit in the past…and now?!? YIKES!! 10 errors in 9 games!! And much like Adam’s first error, Orlando’s error was just stupid…I mean, it went right under his glove and through his legs!!
Vlad scores on a sac fly with a bad throw home.
Up we go…
Nice leg kick
A couple interesting personal moments:
1. Got to talk to Adam for a sec while he was signing…I told him what a great hit he had last night and thanked him for giving a happy ending to my bad day…and told him to “keep doing for the hood”…he laughed.
2. As Mayra and I were heading home (after leaving in the 7th inning) I told her that the only way I would regret leaving early would be if Jeff Mathis hit his first career home run and I wasn’t there. Well, right after I got home my mom mentioned that Adam was on base again…I said it was the first time all night (she hadn’t been watching the whole game)…I went and turned on the game and saw that the score was 11-3…where did that run come from?!?! I made my mom pull up the Angel page on the computer to check…I was freaking out!! There was NO WAY that Jeff had hit that HR…thankfully, for me, he hadn’t…now I just hope he doesn’t hit it on the road. BTW...the run was another 9th inning RBI for Adam...keep it up!!
Luckily, today is a travel day…my boys will have a long flight to Baltimore to relax, take a step back and prepare for their 10-game road trip. Have a safe flight boys and kick some butt!!
P.S. Ersty will be staying behind to await the birth of his first child. Good luck Ersty!!
