Selling non-SPN memorabilia item for great cause

When I heard of Dick Clark's demise on TV today, I also received sad news via computer that Dora, a sweet homeless Yorkie puppy at a local shelter is in dire need of heart surgery to save her life.

I want to help not just Dora, but two other local shelters in dire need of food because they are no-kill and seriously overcrowded. I applaud all shelters that take in animals and, rather than euthanize, try twice as hard to find them homes.

I have an ornament from 2000 called Dick Clark's Countdown to the Millennium. It's a cool ornament that uses Clark's real voice and plays Kool and the Gang's song, "Celebrate."

I want to auction this ornament to the highest bidder, but I'm also going to ask my generous, animal-loving friends here to help with donations to Bide-a-Wee, Wantagh, NY; North Shore Animal League; and Freeport Animal League, Freeport, NY. I will collect any donation, however large or small, and give it to these well-deserving shelters. I give what I can, but I'm on a fixed income now, so that's far more limited than I'd like it to be.

Will you open your hearts and help, please? Send bids for the ornament to me at robinv@optonline.net

It will be given to the highest bidder one week from today. Thanks so much!

Love,
Robin
