(To the tune of "Star of the County Down")
In a place renowned called Corona town
One morning in July
Down a slight incline came a sweet frauline
And she smiled as she passed me by
She looked so neat from her two bare feet
To the sheen of her nut-brown hair
Such a coaxing elf, had to shake myself
To be sure I was standing there
From Schlesien down unto Hanover
From Munich to Brementon
There's none so fine as the sweet frauline
That I met at Corona town
As she onward sped, I shook my head
And I gazed with a feeling rare
So I said, says I, to a passer-by
"Who's that maid with the nut-brown hair?"
He chuckled at me and with pride says he
"She's the jewel of Corona's crown
That's Rapunzel there, she's the Princess fair
She's the star of Corona Town."
From Schlesien down unto Hanover
From Munich to Brementon
None I've beheld are like Rapunzel
That I met at Corona town
She had large green eyes and a look so shy
And a smile like a rose in June
And a sweet song rose from her lily-white throat
As she lilted a German tune
At the pattern dance, I was held entranced
As she skipped to a jig and a reel
When her eyes she rolled, she would lift your soul
And your heart she would freely steal
From Schlesien down unto Hanover
From Munich to Brementon
None I've beheld are like Rapunzel
That I met at Corona town
At the harvest fair, she'll be surely there
And I'll dress in my Sunday clothes
With my shoes shone bright and my hat cocked right
For a smile from that nut-brown rose
No pipe I'll smoke, no horse I'll yoke
Though with rust my plow turns brown
Till a smiling bride by my own fireside
Sits the star of Corona town
From Schlesien down unto Hanover
From Munich to Brementon
None I've beheld are like Rapunzel
That I met at Corona town
