You took it apart, smarty. Now you put it back together!

Sally crossed her arms over her chest and watched with amusement as Linus threw a screwdriver onto the plush cushions of the sofa. She tried hard to keep herself from laughing as he yanked out yet another tiny plastic piece of something and placed it down on a piece of newspaper.

"Why are you keeping them on the newspaper? It's not like there's paint on them."

Linus' head twisted over to her slowly, and his eyes grew narrow with irritation. "I'm trying to keep things in order so I can remember how to put them back."

Sally snorted and shook her head. "You might as well just throw them in a pile. You're never getting that thing back together, Babboo."

"You have no faith in me, Sally," he muttered, yanking something out of the DVD player with a harsh, scraping noise. "Shoot."

"Oh, I have faith," she replied, her tone light and cheerful, "faith that you have totally ruined that. You should just let me run to the store and get us a new one."

Linus gaped at her, and it took every ounce of willpower Sally had to not burst into giggles. "These things cost money, Sally."

"You can't fix it, though, Linus."

"I can."

"Can't."

"Can."

Sally sighed and shook her head. "You're being silly."

Laughing quietly, Linus rolled his eyes. "I'm being silly."

Frowning, Sally stomped her foot. "Well, fine then. You took it apart, smarty. Now you put it back together! Go on...let's see it. Good as new, right?" Her hands flew to her hips and she glared at him. "Of course, the first DVD we're trying out in that thing is one of your Star Wars movies."

His mouth dropped open as he stared at her, then he appeared to shake his head and his expression seemed rather fond as he looked at her. "Aww, Sal. C'mon now, Dollface." Carefully, he stood up and stepped over the various tools and DVD parts strewn around him. "I tell you what...maybe you're right. You should go get us a new DVD player, and when I fix this one up, we'll just keep it as a back-up." He eased himself closer to her and smiled charmingly.

Sally eyed him suspiciously but lifted herself up on her toes to give him a quick kiss and a hug before she moved for her coat and purse. "You just stay away from my DVDs while I'm gone."

Walking over to the door, she made a quick pit-stop at their collection of DVD's, taking a moment to switch out her copy of South Pacific with a blank DVD...just in case.
