A/N: this is a very late Birthday fic for
ryleigh_love and also sorry it’s a little angsty but it seems like it is the only thing I seem to want to write lately
“But... but… I want to teach in Korea!” The young male proclaimed.
“You can when you get your bachelors degree at a good college.” A female voice spoke through the receiver. “Yoochun please put Jaejoong on the phone”
Yoochun sighed then called for Jaejoong. “Jae! Mom wants to talk to you” he then turned his voice down and talked back into the phone. “Mom, you know I love you right?”
“I do sweetie. I love you too” she then coughed a little.
“Mom then I just don’t…oh here’s Jae” Yoochun threw daggers at the elder before shoving the phone into his chest. “Here Jae” he snapped. Heading out of the kitchen Yoochun stormed up the stairs.
Yoochun stopped at the top step and sat down. He wanted to listen to the conversation that Jae was going to have with their mother.
The conversation hadn’t started just yet but he wasn’t worried just yet. Then he heard Jae’s voice float up the stairs. “Hi mom, how are you?” He asked calmly “I’m good. Been taking care of Yoochun like you asked.” There was a soft chuckle. “Oh. Is that so? I guess I need to beat him for you.” The laughing had stopped and there was a scrape of a chair. “Ok mom I’m sitting. What’s up?”
Yoochun wasn’t sure what was going on but continued to listen in on the conversation. There had been a long pause and Yoochun thought he heard Jae start to sob.
“But mom, why can’t I tell Yoochun? Yunho was his-“ Jae was cut off by their mother. “What?” Yoochun heard Jae’s voice get much louder. “What do you mean?” Yoochun heard Jae take a deep breath keeping his temper down. “So you are saying that we are not biological siblings?”
Yoochun completely froze at that not moving from his place. ‘Did I just hear that? Jae and I have thought we were brothers for so long and Yunho isn’t my father. Well then who is?’ He missed a big chunk of the conversation after that being brought back when he heard his name being said.
“Yoochun is just as much of your son as he is my brother. Either you tell him or I do.” There was another long pause before Jae spoke again. “No mom tonight I don’t want to have to keep this secret from him. I can’t and I won’t. I love you mom but this isn’t right.” There was a slam and Yoochun knew that Jae hung up the phone on his mom.
Yoochun scrambled up from the floor and ran to his room. He sat down on the bed and pulled out a book pretending to read. Shortly after he heard footsteps coming up the stairs and towards his room. They stopped right outside the door.
There was a sigh then a knock on the door. “I know it’s you Jae come in.”
The door slowly opened and Jaejoong walked in hanging his head. “Chunnie I.” He stopped and took a deep breath. “I’m sorry I can’t tell you everything right now. But if you want to know something I will tell you what I can.” Yoochun heard Jae swallow the phlegm in his mouth before continuing. “Yu-Yunho was in an accident. Mom was at the hospital and they don’t think that he will make it. The doctors give him less than 24 hours.” Jae then moved closer to the bed and collapsed on it next to Yoochun.
Yoochun placed a hand on the elder’s back rubbing circles on it. “I’m sorry Jae. I know you loved him a lot. I did to. After all he was our father.”
Jae tensed up a little at the last words. “Chunnie please don’t say that any more at least not around me.”
Yoochun nodded silently continuing with the circles on the elders back.
“Did mom tell you who they were?” Yoochun asked after a few minutes.
Jae nodded rolling onto his side.
“Can you tell me?”
“Not till mom tells you the truth about you” Jae sighed.
Yoochun nodded and laid down next to the elder pulling him into a hug as Jae started to cry silently. “Chunnie, I hope you know that whatever happens we will still be brothers. I don’t care if we aren’t related through blood or if we are. I still love you like a brother.”
“Jae I know. Nothing can tear us apart from each other. If that bond is broken we will be broken there is nothing else to say about this. Let’s go to sleep.”
Jae nodded in agreement and curled into the younger man. “Sleep well bro.”
A week later Jae was no longer living with Yoochun afraid of breaking the younger’s heart. “Mom I miss him but I can’t go back he hates us now.” Jae sobbed into the receiver.
“I’m sure he doesn’t hate you. You had every right to tell him. You told me you would and I didn’t believe you. I should have told him not you.”
“Mom you didn’t see the hurt in his eyes. He hit me too. I know I deserved it but I’m scared to go back there. I just I don’t want to see him hurt any more. I want... I don’t know what I want.” Jae rambled.
“Go talk to him Jaejoong.” Soothing words were coming from the other end. “You don’t know what he wants unless you talk to him.”
“Yes mom” he said giving in with a little pout. “I just wish you were here to protect me.” He chuckled.
“I do to. Now go talk to your brother!” She said sternly.
“Yes mom” Jae rolled his eyes before adding “I love you lots.”
“I love you too” She hung up the phone after that.
It took another two weeks for Jae to get the courage to go up to Yoochun and see how he was doing.
He knocked on the door to their once shared home. No one answered at first. So Jae knocked again.
“Who’s there? If you haven’t been here for almost a month please note that if you are looking for Jaejoong he is no longer living here.” Jae heard through the door.
Jae opened his mouth to speak but no words came out.
“Really is this just another prank.” Jae heard through the door.
“N-n-no it’s not a prank.” Jae said calmly.
There was a shuffling on the inside before Jae heard locks be released. “Jae if that’s you I’m going to-“ the door then swung open then a loud smack radiated through the front door.
“I deserve that.” Jae said honestly looking at the ground.
“No you didn’t. Jae I’m sorry.”
“Chunnie, Yes I did. Please just let me come inside.” Jae looked up at the younger male.
Yoochun moved out of the doorway. “Jae I’m still sorry I shouldn’t have done that. But please come on in. It’s still as much of your home as it is of mine.”
Jae smiled a little then took a step inside. “You know I missed being here with you.”
Yoochun smiled back and led Jae to the living room. “I missed your cooking. Though you moving out taught me how to cook a little.”
There was a warm atmosphere to the room. “Chunnie, did you find out from mom who your biological parents are?”
Yoochun shook his head. “No I didn’t. I asked and I never got answers from her.”
“Would you like to know?”
Yoochun nodded.
“Should we sit down cause it will be a big shock to you.” Jae sat down on the couch that had been there since they had moved in five years ago.
Yoochun sat next to Jae putting his head on the elder’s shoulder. Jae wrapped a arm around the younger rubbing circles on his lower back.
“This is going to sound a little twisted. But mom is ours to share. Dad on the other hand is a little different. My dad as you used to know was Yunho. The day that I left is the day that he died from a car accident. Your dad on the other hand had a child with mom but decided that he didn’t like her anymore. Matter of fact he doesn’t like females in general.” Jae took a deep breath. “This is part of the reason mom didn’t want to tell you. Though he has helped to support us. His name is Junsu and his current boyfriend is Changmin. Does this clear it up a little?”
Yoochun nodded and smiled. Now he knew why he looked like someone famous he was a child of the famous soccer player Junsu. “Jae, will you promise not to leave me again unless we find someone to love us?”
“Yes Yoochun I promise not to leave you until someone comes by to love us.” Jae smiled and kissed the top of Yoochun’s head.
“Thanks Jae. Now its ten o’clock and I’m tired can I go back to bed?” Yoochun looked up at the elder with pleading eyes.
“Yes you may I’m going to stay here and play the piano a little.”
Yoochun smiled and stood up stretching. Jae shortly followed and moved towards the baby grand piano they had in the corner and started playing softly. Yoochun soon sat back onto the couch and fell asleep to Jae playing. Jae stopped and looked over at the sleeping Yoochun. He pulled a blanket over the younger and went upstairs into his room and fell asleep with a smile on his face not worried about anything till the next day.
