Just jacked a load of FEAT from my buddy c and his gazillion CD's -- we are somehwere beteen really old fart vinyl dinosaurs and up to date Ipod music freaks. We were waxing nostalgic about getting our music as kids by holding a portable cassete recorder up to American Top 40 on the AM radio...

So anyway...I was rifling through the Feat site and decided to compile some of the genius lyrics that they have kicked out. Dig em.

From Billy Payne:

"Oh the city she makes
Sometimes your soul to feel floating just like a leaf in the wind
Street is stream so it carries you past your present schemes 'til there is no end
Left right in the alley
No one catches you but the gentle wind"

From Paul Barrere:

"All, all that you dream
Comes through shining silver lining --
Clouds clouds change the scene
Rain starts washing all those cautions into your life
Makes you realize just what is true
What else can you do --
Just follow the rules
Keep your eyes on the road that's ahead of you"

"Well I'm waitin' for something to take place
Something to take me away from this race
'Round city to city, town to town
Runnin' around in the shoes of a clown
And that desperate, no count, desperado
A thief of love, my business is the street
I be shakin' 'em down
Oh Colorado
Texas she's nice, but DC's oh so sweet
Steal away with me darlin' your lovin' just can't be beat
So it seems that the world keeps on turnin' but so what
I don't doubt it, it just keeps on the move
Your a dream, and that's all that I ask for
So well now, I'm wonderin' just how I'm gonna tell it to you
Skin it back"

AND FROM THE LATE GREAT LOWELL GEORGE:

"It's so easy to slip
It's so easy to fall
And let your memory drift
And do nothin' at all
All the love that you missed
All the people that you can't recall
Do they really exist at all"

"Don't it always seem to hit you
right when you think you can lay back easy
Those times are hard to come by
Sittin' still with nothin' on your mind
Memories are friends that you had
It's so clear if you need to see
I can count on you, you can count
You can count on me
Those clouds outside your doorway
Don't seem so dark or move so fast
If you keep on rocking long as it keeps raining
Back and forth on your porch
Just keep on rocking, keep on rocking
If I could only tell you what I feel now
It's been so long inside of me
All the years that I've been trying
To stay in touch, to stay in line
Trying just to be myself, be myself
And no one else
Front page right through to back page
Have I got news for you"

"Easy, I say easy, I can't push or shove her
So I guess I really care
Now I'm not one to hide my love behind a lock and key
But if things keep going the way they are there's no place left for me"

"Lady in a turban, cocaine tree
Does a dance so rhythmically
She's cryin', and a singin' and having a time
and gee that cocaine tree look fine"

I miss having Lowell around ... LOL...he'd have died about five times more by now if he hadn't back in the day...alas...
