Dieter an average fellow with earthy clay colored skin waiting again for his friend at his shitty apartment in the stiles. He was propped in a window, clad in a hoodie that shadowed his face and bandages on his hands and some briefs. The only thing that was worth something in that apartment of his was the silver pipe he was happily smoking out of that he stole from the dead man in the apartment over.

"Don’t you ever have better things to do with your day?" Dieter was startled out of his revere by the overly peppy voice of his friend Catrine; a short pale young woman whom could be spotted at great distance by her silvery blonde hair, which was currently covered by the sagging knit cap that hd certainly seen better days.

The man damn near fell out of the window. “Shit!” Catching himself before he fell. Once upright and a safe distance from he window he placed the pipe on the table in his apartment- basically a square with a toilet, kitchen, and sleeping/sitting area with minimal furniture.

” wanking and food count, sums shit up. Anyway where’ve you been?” He cracked his neck walking over to embrace her briefly.

"I suppose those are legitimate pastimes. I had to run downtown, ran out of mug-wart and Valerian root." She embraced her friend tightly before letting go to gently grasp his hands in her own.

" What did you do this time?" Catrine asked, shaking her head.

Shaking his head, ” You know , I have that here right, since you know I don’t practice anymore.” reaching up to rub the back of his neck, ringing his pinkie around hers instead of holding her hand.

"I didn’t do much, I just looted a the Old guy from next door, bastard has been dead for about a week now." shrugging it off like its an everyday occurrence , honestly it was.

"Damn, I thought the stench was coming from your fridge. Anyway, I needed a bit more than usual, and I keep hoping that you’ll take up the craft again. Wouldn’t want you to have to re-supply." She smiled gently wrapping her hands around his and letting her attention drift towards healing the damaged skin under the bandages, feeling the warmth overcome her mind for the briefest of moments.

“yeah, actually I’m a bit hungry from it, could you spot me a burger, cat? Eh I can always get supplies.” he took his hand from her feeling her warmth, looking uneasy he cleared his throat and looked down. ” I told you before Cat. Don’t do that.. these you can not heal like the others.”

Gripping the back of his neck with both hands he huffed. ” so how about that burger Miss? Spot a devil a little snack, maybe a beer or two?”

Catrine tilted her head and fully took in the appearance of her friend, noting the weariness in his face, and donning a cheery smile.

"Can’t blame a girl for trying can you. Anyways, I suppose for this particular devil, I might be willing to do that. Go put your trousers on and we’ll head over to the The Crown for a bite”. She knew better than to push anything on Dieter. If he wanted her help, then he would ask. She just couldn’t help but try to fix things.

Snagging up a pair of pants and sliding them in place , Dieter was adorn in keloidss, names and other marks which could be seen as he changed his hoodied out for a long sleeve shirt. Patting down his pants he finds his ring, slipping it on his left hand ring finger. Shrugging he points to the door, grabs his keys on the way to the door, smiling, his stomach gurgles . ” I haven’t been to The Crown in a while, anything change?” he rubbed his stomach,

Catrine smiles and loops her arm around his and leans her head against his shoulder.

"Not a damn thing. Same shitty service and awesome food. At least we don’t have to go far." As they made their way outside, Catrine couldn’t help but think about the life story that was written along her friends limbs. Despite their years of friendship, she had never asked about them, and even though she knew he trusted and cared for her, in his own way, Catrine knew she would likely never know the full story.

Leaning into her he snorted. ” Damn I missed the place, I wonder if they still service the snotters. I remember my first, Huge freaking bowl of thick mint chocolate cream , heavy on the liquor .” lips parted in awe, eyes hooded while reminiscing while locking up and heading with his beloved friend.

" Hey? so where have you been, you haven’t stopped by the bar in a while, shit I always look for you and its seems like you’ve been M.I.A? Whats going? You in trouble? I can always get you out of it. " walking beside her, tucking her into the bow of his arm as he took her hand and held her pinkie again.

"I… I’ve been, busy… you know, with some stuff. Haven’t been able to get out much". Catrine tried to avoid his eyes, and picked up their pace a little as a light rain began to fall. She knew that Dieter would be livid if he knew the crowd she had been pulled into. Very few people were approving of manipulation magicks in this city, and he was not one of those in favor of the darker side of the craft. It was’t like she was the one working the spells, she just provided those in need with the appropriate potions to get the job done.

"Yeah?" taking note of her response he arched a brow, trotting after her as he felt the rain lightly build up on his flesh. However putting on a smile even when he felt uneasy wasn’t hard for him. As they reached the place, he opened the door. Not focus on anything in particular in The Crown , he was pondering what she had said. “the loo, it calls. I’ll be quick.” dashing off as he spoke.

Catrine sighed, smacking her hand to her forehead. ‘Way to be completely obvious, numb-skull’ she berated herself as she walked to the counter and ascended a bar stool. A moment later a silver haired man stood in front of her behind the bar, towel in hand.

"What are you havin’ today Cat?" His gruff voice and hardened expression was enough to put most people off, but not Catrine. She had known Seamus for the majority of her life and knew that he was one of the kindest men in the City.

"Hello Seamus dear, I’ll be needing two pints today. Whetever’s on tap." She replied, smiling at the old man. "How’s Lulie?" Catrine asked after the barkeeps daughter. Regret immediately over came her as his grimace deepened.

"She’s decide to take up with those no-good rotten Atrox. Thinks that runnin’ rampant playin’ with black magick is better than goin’ ta school." His voice became rough as he tried to calm his emotions.

Dieter return from the loo with a smile on his face, after relieving himself. Over hearing the conversation at the bar as he pulls back the stool, as hes climbing a bundle of cloth draped halfway in back pocket falls from his persons.

The sound of heels stopping short behind him makes him turn, he looks over and down- seeing a woman pick up the bundle in her hand, it unraveling and displayed out to the public. She looked to him with a strange expression, it took her a moment to realize what she was holding as he stares back with indifference.. ” Miss, I believe you holding my undergarments, I’d like those back.” he held out his hand. The woman grunted and dropped the garments missing his hand and walked off. Making no effort to catch them the caught the back of his shoe, he reached down to retrieved them as others near by watched , some shook their head.

Catrine glanced over her shoulder to see Dieter retrieving his briefs from the floor of the bar and waited for him to turn around.

"Well, well, can’t take you anywhere in public anymore can I?" She asked, a smile on her face. Before he could respond Seamus set their drinks down on the bar.

"What will you two be havin’ ta eat, oh let me guess" he looked over to Dieter, "a Hamburger, and french fries." Catrine giggled.

"Why Seamus, how ever did you know such a thing?" She asked in the her best, dumb-blonde, voice.

"Cause that’s the same thing he’s been ordering since the two of you’s started comin’ here". Seamus allowed a minuscule smirk upturn his lip for a moment.

Turning around and handing Seamus the goods he shrugged. ” ey, I thought for once you’d like to skip out on a viewing of my pretty cheeks-” , waving a hand around he tilted his head looking up at the other man then back to Cat. “what about this black magick business. ” His words held venom hinted with the last fuck he gave seven years ago.

When there was mention of food , he perked up, that goofy smile of his popped on his face and infected his eyes with joy and delight .
"Hell yes, Burger and fries, heavy on all the toppings. Fooood fooood. Feed me." with the growling of his agreeing stomach he rapped his fingers upon the bar, giving Seamus the best puppy dog eyes he could muster. He waved his arms, " and a pie, apple." he bit his lip , groaning thinking about food, the talk of magick quickly got away from him .

"I swear Dieter, they must have had you in mind when they coined the term ‘the way to a mans heart is through his stomach’. When was the last time you had anything to eat? " Catrine donned her best ‘Mom’ look and fixed it on her friend

A grown ass man became a blissfully satisfied child at the mentioning of food. “Let’s see.” He held up his hands counting “about six months.” He cracked his neck . “I’m done digesting the last thing I ate, plus I have had time to grab a bit of food .” He was still cheery nearly bouncing out of his seat .

"That’s right I keep forgetting that with your haritege, you don’t have to eat as much as I would. No matter, you’re getting a good meal today." Catrine handed Dieter his drink and took a long swallow of her own. His minimal display of temper was nothing on comparison to the scolding she knew she desereved from him. She justed hoped that her involvement with the Atrox would be short lived enough for him to never find out. While they waited for their meals to come out, Catrine decided to veer the convorsation into safer territory.
"A little birdie told me that you were well on your way to becomming a certain someones.. special.. friend. Is it true Dieter?" Catrine watched her friend with a bright smile and waited for his reply. Though she knew not to pay heed to idle gossip, the thought that Dieter would be involved with the Countess de Rumond was too entertaining not to tease her dear friend with. As if he would be interested in being that powdered Vampire princesses kept boy.

"heritage, yeah well. Doesn’t mean that as a respectable and responsible man I won’t eat you out of house and home. " He grins.
"fill me up ‘Capt’n" accepting the drink he slid it out in front of him, Dipping a finger into it , stirring. He looked over at Catrine, terror ran over his face briefly before it settle back into a grin. " A special friend? I’m just a well payed escort. " it was hard holding back whatever was left in his stomach as he let those words leave his. " exactly why I don’t practice." were spoken barely audibly, the humor and the excitement left his eyes. they were dull no longer the vibration colors they were. He didn’t clinch a fist nor did he move but the grin on his face stayed. " Now if I wasn’t mistaken I wondered in on the talk of your daughter Seamus, what did I miss? how’s she been?

"Aye, she’s decided to take up with those no-good-sons-a-blood-whores. Decided that she doesn’t want to behave like good civilized folk, wants ta’ run around hexin’ good, innocent people. I swear, when I get my hands on that girl…"

"Seamus, did you ever think that maybe, she didn’t know what she was getting herself into, that now that she’s in there’s no way out." Catrine tried to reason with the older man while keeping her own fear out of her voice.

"Lulie is still young, when she comes home, what you really need to do is let her know that you’re there for her. She’s a brilliant girl and if she put her mind to it she could be an immensely powerful practitioner, but people make mistakes."

" I’ll help her Seam. You damn well know I how I feel about it." Slouched over the bar thumbing his ring he looked from Seamus then to Cat, taking note of her voice until his stomach growled . " about that food Seam, where is it? I’m getting cranky." He took a sip of ale , once the glass returned to its coaster , with a click of his tongue he focused on his hand that was turned palm up. Slowly but surely that silver pipe he had from earlier materialized in his hand . "Damn I’m rusty . " he looked up at Cat cat sheepishly then to Seamus . "Meh"

Catrine simply shook her head and allowed a small smile take residence upon her face.
"No worries dear heart," she held her hand out and materialized a bag of his favorite pipe tobacco "I’m not." She said with a giggle as Seamus out shone her playful conjuring by producing their meals in an instant.
"There ya go ya whinging brats. Eat up."

"Seam it would’ve been helpful if you’d have done that earlier." mumbling , however he quickly put the pipe down and started stuffing his gullet full of food. He was in heaven downing the food. Groans of satisfaction because his on personal theme song in which he wiggled to. Drinking and eating ,alternating between the two as he came to a finish. Looking at Cat, his face was clean save for the bit of mustard on his mouth, and if you looked at his plate it looked like it was just washed. Swallowing the bit of food left in his mouth. Placing the pipe betwixt his lips he took the tobacco and stuffed his pipe, the heavy scent of cloves and Myrrh mixed with the air as he lit it. Rubbing his stomach and pointing to his glass as a request for more drink.

Smoke rolled through his nostrils as he was filled with content.

Catrine rolled her eyes at Dieter’s inhalation of food. Slowly she began to consume her own meal.
"You know I wouldn’t mind you doing that. Its not like there’s anyone else to do it." Even though the last of her family had left this world some years ago, she never truly felt alone in her inherited mansion. And despite repeated requests, Dieter had always refused to live in one of her twenty spare bedrooms.

" to eat you? Not what I had in mind, I mean that involves me getting down on my knees parting your thighs- " He stopped to think for a moment then his expression changed. "I’m assuming you mean actually eating your flesh, I’d never consider it." Reach over, to capture a strain of her hair and tucked it behind her ear before slipping his fingers into her hair and tilting her head back to look her in the eyes. " I would never. consider. it." He withdrew his hand and went back to mulling over things with Seamus about about his daughter as he stared back at the bar top.

Catrine let out a small squeak as Dieter turned her to face him.

"Well I meant it more along the lines of coming over and raiding my fridge" Her voice had jumped three octaves during that sentence, making her sound more like a chipmunk.

" oh bless you , that I can do." His eyes were filled with thoughts of food which normally gives him a happy expression. " yes, yes I can do that." He turned back to Seamus .

Sitting there and chatting for a few hours with the two was enough for him.
"So I think it’s time to head out . I’m starting to get sleepy and I don’t want to crash here, you might have to take me home."

"I’ve never had an issue with getting you into bed.Wait, what." Catrine replied off the cusp. Her face shifting from her usual pale complexion to that of a tomato with a sunburn.

"I meant I can walk with you back to your place. If you want me too." Catrine quickly became fascinated with the stitching on her jacket sleeve waiting for his reply.

" hey save that summer camp shit for another time" hiccups making it hard for him to focus even more. "I can’t- digest and have hard dick at the same time - don’t uh.. " he stumbled getting up with hooded eyes. "Uh…hhhh -burps- "

Deciding that it would be better for all involved if Dieter did not go into his digestive coma at the bar-top, Catrine wrapped her arms around him, making him stand up in the process and focused every ounce of concentration on materializing them in her foyer.

What was usually a small tap on her energy when she traveled alone became lead weights on her body when she decided to travel with a partner.

"You know this would be so much easier if you were in any condition to use some of your own power. Catrine struggled to get Dieter moving. There was no way that she would be able to get him upstairs to the guest rooms, so she had to do the next best thing. She drug him over to her own first floor room, one that once housed the head of the household staff and hoisted him onto her bed.

"Now what to do about your clothes?"
