This is the sign we saw just before the border. So dramatic, haha.
Despite the rest of Tijuana being such a shit hole, I had a great time yesterday organizing what we could of the library and playing around with the kids. That place is like a little secluded haven, amidst a cruel and repulsive city. It's sad being surrounded by such poverty, then looking across the border at the hundreds of elaborately architectured corporate buildings in California. Anyway, the kids were all so dynamic and irresistible. Language barriers are hard, but I was surprised at how much I could understand just by body language. I couldnt believe the amount of work we did with very little result today. Its going to take a lot of work to get this finished, and I dont know who is going to be able to do it since my friends and I aren't going to make it down there again this year. Its sad, but im sure the kids there are used jobs around the orphanage going unfinished. I just hope the library is important enough to the church that they actually finish it. Anyway, I'll spend tomorrow with my father's family in San Diego, then Sunday, Sean and Slavica are going to save me for a camping excursion somewhere along the pacific highway. I'll meet up with Elisa in LA (hack), and spend a few days mindlessly wandering the city. I can't wait to see my beautiful friendssss.
