dear yixuan mandy tengsi liao fang yuquan and the rest of rgtt,
you won't see this but i'm super super super proud of you guys, GIVING YOUR ALL TO YOUR MATCH, for your TEAM, for RAFFLES (: no one will know how hard you trained for your match except you yourselves but i know you guys really fought the hardest, AND ISN'T THAT WHAT MATTERS THE MOST :')
hehe so that you know, i'm very very very proud to tell people, "my ex-classmates are playing!!!" HEHE LOVE YOU ALL :D
it was rather upsetting already how few supporters we have as compared to cedar, and even still the spectators were super bochap about the whole thing and totally didn't cooperate with the prefects who were really trying so hard to get us to cheer. kim goh tamisha aye mon and humaira were like shouting at us desperately to get our attention but it was hard and our cheering really wasn't audible, plus cedar's half-a-cohort spectators were really intimidating. me elaine and yeeting knew that we had to do something bout it, but other than cheering like mad (we have sore throats now) we didn't know what else we would do for them. especially when we were losing the first and second game at first everyone was super sianed and were like, "shit why we losing ah" instead of cheering them on ahhhh i felt super annoyed especially seeing RGTT really trying to garner our support. why i thought our school spirit was strong what happened to giving our support to those who are trying to do the school proud ): are we going to SSAs for the requirement or because we genuinely want to support those out there who trained so hard just for the school? ahhhhhh ):
BUT
even with the spectators being super unenthu, i am still heartened by the fact that 1) RGTT is really a team, yes a team. when mandy/liaofang won their game (they were initially losing 2-0 then THEY FOUGHT BACK AND WON THE GAME 3-2 which is incredible) the smile on their faces were priceless :D :D :D i was smiling like a fool then especially when tengsi won her match quite easily with such calmness and skill and while watching rgtt and their smiles ahhhhh was quite happy :')
also, even though yuquan and her partner and yixuan lost their 2 games after that, i saw the encouragements going on, and how especially when yixuan got super upset at herself for losing her match, everyone was so supporting. i didn't know what to do, but i knew that she had the support she needed, and so i decided to pray for strength to stand tall stand proud even after their defeat. and YES, they stopped crying quite soon after, and for the awards ceremony they replaced their tears with :') WHAT MADE MY DAY WAS SEEING YUQUAN AND LIAO FANG HUG YIXUAN FOR A LONG, LONG TIME, and suddenly it felt as if their disputes last year didn't happen. i really like the friendship amongst all of them, especially when all of them are my ex-classmates whom i treasure a lot. :') i'm really proud to be from 206'10, and to know these strong tabletennis players who are such good friends of mine, and who are such strong players too who are definitely going to stay strong and FIGHT BACK NEXT YEAR :')
and of course, the prefects GMH :') especially when some of them (chenglynn peiqi and a few others) came from the RJ side to help us cheer. :D and people like charis (!!!) like a bunny and cheering her heart out :D i love people like her, doing something because she genuinely wants to, (she even took her math GA yesterday to come) and you can tell everything comes from her heart <3
BUT MOST OF ALL, I'M SO PROUD OF RGTT ESPECIALLY WHEN I KNOW THAT THEY'RE STANDING STRONGER EVERY YEAR <3 <3 <3 i've been to all of their matches every year, and i see them fighting harder, staying stronger as the years go by hehe.
mandy wong, you are the strongest, bravest person i've ever met. fighting a fever and an injured wrist, you won your match (!!!) best childhood friend, i love you so much heehee (:
