god damn paint splotches!
So yesterday Josh & I started working on the basement. I was really excited to see things finally looking better. He even took me to Lowe's to get face masks, paint samples & that stuff to fill holes in the wall. I picked out all my favorite colors: blues, teals, light greens, the perfect yellows & then finally decided on the perfect two colors for the living room. My accent wall was a Stain Grass with the rest of the walls including the kitchen Butter. It was beautiful, everyone loved it. But I'll never get to paint them those colors because Jan doesn't like green. Instead she kept telling me how beige & browns & creams were best. Boring. So boring. She kept saying how the green was too dark, so she showed me colors that were even darker than the perfect green I picked.
Officially, I give up. I saw an opportunity to make myself happy. I like to decorate, I like colors. I love making something feel like home but this isn't my time. This isn't my home & Jan is NOT my mom. *phew* Luckily for Raquel she got to pick the colors she wanted because Jan had approved. My colors must be too much & that's something I can totally live with. My world must be way too colorful for them & at least that makes me smile :)
