FIC REC: "Antiquity's Corollary" (Severitus)

Here's to getting back into the swing of things!

This fic I'm in the middle of right now is PHENOMENAL.

Antiquity's Corollary by GonnaBeFamous on FFN
Author's Summary: At Lily's request, Albus Dumbledore has kept a secret from Severus Snape for 17 years. When Dumbledore learns that this secret plays a vital role in the war, however, it is Snape who is left to deal with the consequences. As Harry's true parentage is revealed, both his and Snape's futures become uncertain. The two must learn to work together in order to survive. PreHBP.

I don't remember even close to half of the fics I've read but I would hazard a guess that this is one of THE BEST that I've come across. If you are nervous about the concept of Severitus/Sevitus (Snape as Harry's father), set aside those worries for this story. The writing is brilliant, and I haven't read a Snape this strong in, well, weeks. Okay so that's not that impressive, but I at least remember how gratifying it is to find well-developed characters AND plot lines AND strong writing. The diction is fantastic, befitting a Snape-centric fic, and her Harry is SPOT ON, especially considering it began prior to Half-Blood Prince! Don't let that deter you, by the way. I am SUCH a purist after Deathly Hallows where Snape and Lily's friendship is concerned and honestly that is the ONLY thing I have to get past. And that's not even due to the writing/story!

EVEN BETTER than the clear intelligence and thoroughness of the writer is the interactions between Snape and Dumbledore. Absolutely insurmountable.

I'd be interested to hear what other people have to think about the fic!
