They'd managed to keep their relationship a secret from anyone at work for about two weeks until Tim was shot at by a suspect and Tony went ballistic on the guy once he ran him down. Gibbs didn't say a word at first, but once Ducky had gotten Tim checked out and said he could go home, Gibbs had spoken up and sent Tony to take the younger agent home. Once in Tony's car, Tony turned to Tim.
