I’m not exactly what you’d call the most...verbose individual in the whole world. Not even in the whole galaxy...at least not *my* whole galaxy. Native or otherwise. And that’s a flaw, I’m aware of that. Not just when you’re involved in a relationship, but as a rule overall...but let’s face it: it’s particularly important when you’re involved with someone.
Some guys have a reason for it...burned by talking about their feelings, traumatic childhood incident or something like that...you know, a root to the problem if that’s what you want to call it. Me? I...don’t have one. No reason, no excuse.
Do I get points for my honesty?...
Hmm. Guess not.
The fact of the matter is that I’m just not comfortable expressing myself that way. It’s sad, but true, and at least I can fess up to it. On a certain level. Y’know...it’s not like I’d be openly discussing this...subject if my arm wasn’t being twisted. And I’m still not comfortable with it...I’m just grateful I’m writing this instead of actually talking, because...well, let’s just say I’d have a lot more trouble getting a word in on the subject.
The women I’ve been involved with before? They’ve all had things to say about it...I’ve been called names, been accused of being a heartless bastard, all of it. But the fact of the matter is that when it comes to...y’know, how I feel...the words are just never there. It’s like...the intimacy edition of stage fright or something. I freeze up. I get tongue tied. I’m just lucky that the really important people in my life know and understand that...and don’t think less of me for it.
Well...not much less, anyway.
