Name: Izaya Orihara, also known online as "Kanra", and "Nakura". (Previously in SC, he called himself "Ryugamine Mikado" and "Heiwajima Shizuo". And he'll pretty much take any name, on the spot, as long as it suits him or his purposes.)
Age: 23 (24?)
Gender: Male
Fandom: DRRR!! (Durarara!!)
Timeline: Post episode 24 of the anime.
History: This and this.

Character Personality: The main driving force behind Izaya's personality is his insatiable curiosity about pretty much everything and everyone around him. However, his curiosity is tinted with a remarkable lack of empathy towards his fellow human beings, that often leads him to act in a cruel and reckless manner. He boldly proclaims to love humanity as a whole in various occasions, but such statements are often followed by a remark that his love is for the concept of humanity, rather than a specific person. Humans are, to Izaya, incredibly fun toys to play with, and he has as much care for them as a small child has for theirs. It doesn't really matter to him, who has to suffer and what horrible things people go through, so long as he finds entertainment in it, and more often than not, he will purposely push people into situations where they'll break, for no other reason than to find out how far he can push before they do.

Despite this, Izaya is very charming upon first impressions, unless he decides to show himself on a different light. He has a playful personality, often prone to childish displays that can be rather terrifying in full context, but give him an air of carelessness and inoffensiveness. He is an informant by trade, and he loves making other people's business his own, more so when they make it his. He can be extremely affable and friendly, and unless he chooses to show himself otherwise, the impression is likely to remain. However, when he does show the crueler side of his personality, he does so without spite. He's not cruel for cruelty's sake, or sadism, per se. He's not after revenge or something like that, which is part of what makes him so unpredictable. He does it to sate his curiosity and as such, there is a more threatening air to his behavior, because he can't be reasoned with or convinced to spare someone. Everyone around him - truly everyone - will eventually find themselves victims of Izaya's curiosity one way or another.

Contrary, however, to what one might assume given the above, Izaya does not consider himself a god, though he does act as if he's above the rest of humanity. He merely considers himself an educated observer, and in a way, that is also why he does not seem to hold too many grudges or in the same way most people would. He has admitted to being bored, when things go exactly as he planned them, so he's not too terribly mad when things don't go as planned; rather, he likes that, because it provides much entertainment.

Character Abilities: Izaya is an outstanding parkour expert, who has been shown to be very agile and fast on his feet, able to use his surroundings to his advantage near constantly. His weapon of choice is the flickblade, and he's absurdidly skilled in its use, though none of it is supernatural. He has been shown to shave someone's head without them noticing and slash a bag's strap with only a hiss of air as evidence he did. Despite not having any supernatural powers, Izaya is able to go against Shizuo if not with ease, at least comfortably enough. Though he usually avoids fighting if he can, Izaya has been shown to have an staggering destructive power of his own.

But beyond his physical prowess, impressive as it might be, his real power is his ability to con, manipulate, misinformate and otherwise toy with people. He's an excellent actor, convincing liar and shameless bastard. He possesses a keen and overwhelming understanding of human nature, and more often than not, he knows exactly what to say to cause a given reaction in people. And the people who exist outside his expectatives are incredible sources of curiosity that naturally become targets in time. It's also implied he's somewhat a competent hacker.

Character Weaknesses: Curiosity did indeed kill the cat. It's been shown at least once that Izaya can easily lose track of the environment when he's dealing with a particularly interesting person - such as when he's introduced to Mikado and he doesn't notice Shizuo throwing a vending machine at him, something he's later shown being quite capable of anticipating. While he has been shown to anticipate and plan for things on a level that gives the impression of omniscence, Izaya is aware he does not, in fact, know everything. While he keeps this in mind at all times - hence the curiosity - he does plan while taking into account what he knows. Thus, his entire schemes can fall flat by the introduction of a wildcare or a piece of information he had been thus unaware of. Overall, however, Izaya's unnatural curiosity is his greatest fault, because it has lead him to mess with things that should not be messed with, for the sole purpose of finding out what happens if he does.

[ SOUL CAMPAIGN SECTION ]

What are the abilities that your character will retain in Soul Campaign?

- Agility/Speed/Parkour, since it's the fruit of training and nothing superhuman beyond the discipline to learn it.

- His ability using a flickblade.

- Charm/Personality/Lying.

-Minor computer knowledge.

- Previous memories from his stay in Death City.*

What are the weaknesses that your character will lose or gain in Soul Campaign?

- Lack of a social network from which to get information reliably; he'll have to start from scratch.

- Lack of his usual resources, monetary, human, or otherwise.

- Lack of a flickblade to actually use. Again.

- Having been "outed" before, by castmates, to Roy Mustang and (possibly) others.*

[ MEISTER SECTION ]

Why your character should be a Meister: Because Izaya is a chessmaster. In a partnership, the weapon follows the directions of the meister, while the meister supports and guides the weapon according to the situation. Izaya is not one to follow anyone's direction, even if he were to trust them (but that's another issue for another time). He plans and schemes and takes things into consideration, which overall makes him better fit to handle a weapon, than to be one. It's not just an issue of control, per se, but also of suitability. All his natural talents seem almost tailor fit to be a meister.

Meister Ability:

- Clairvoyance, because it was the ability he had in his previous visit to Death City, and it suited him well and complimented his parkour abilities.

[ SOUL INFORMATION ]

Soul Description: Curious. Duplicitous. Playful. Independent. Fickle. Cruel.

Soul Appearance: A fairly big, dark red sized ball with his trademark malicious smirk and the design of his bangs over its small eyes, wrapped in two loose circles of yellow KEEP OUT tape that crisscross each other.
