“HA!” exclaimed the Doctor. He was sitting alone in the living room of the Noble house in Chiswick. He had taken Donna to visit her family one afternoon and was entertaining himself with photos he found of Donna when she was a child while the others were getting lunch ready. Donna came out of the kitchen at the sound of his outburst with an anxious look on her face.
“What’s happened?” she asked, looking from his face to the photos in his hand. Her anxious expression quickly changed to one of anger. “Where’d you get those?” she raged. “You’re not supposed to see them!”
“But you were so cute Donna!” He sounded a little more than excited and his grin couldn’t have been wider.
“Look at you! With your hair a in a big red mess, in your mum’s big high-heeled shoes, and lipstick smeared all over your face! It’s amazing…you as little Donna! When I thought of you being a little girl I never imagined you would be this cute!”
Donna walked over to where he sat and looked down at the photo where she must have been around five or six. She started to giggle as her anger faded away. The Doctor was right, she was cute, even if she did think so herself. Suddenly the realization of his previous words struck her and she gave the Doctor a heavy slap on the arm he didn’t see coming. He almost fell out the chair.
“Oi! What do you mean you never thought I’d be cute? Of course I was! And don’t call me cute! Only I’m allowed to call me cute. Got that Timeboy?”
He nodded meekly with a small smile and then asked, “Would you mind reenacting this photo later in the TARDIS?” Donna just gave him a look that shut him up.
She turned around to return to the kitchen when she heard him whisper “Cute” behind her back. She sighed. She’d show him cute when they were back in the TARDIS. Oh yes, her cute hand would make acquaintance with his cute face.
