WHAT A WEEKEND!

This is a little delayed, but last weekend was so glorious.

Friday: I had rehearsal after school for a little bit, and then I stuck around to watch the "Don't Be Afraid..." number and wait for Steve. Steve and I picked up Lindsay, and then drove me to their secret spot and refused to tell me what I was in for. I quickly found myself in the city right on O'Farrell, not knowing what the hell was going on. They took me into this very sketchy Morrocan restaurant with all these bellydancers painted on the outside. BUT it was truly amazing. The food was great, and we lounged around on these sofa-things instead of chairs and they washed our hands at the table with rosewater and we learned how to bellydance.
Then we got the check.
Let's just say that we only could pay for parking by finding 4 more quarters in my back pocket. And we were pretty prepared for money issues. YIKES. Anyways, that was my lovely evening in the city.

Saturday: I did some homework in the morning, whatever, and then I thought I was going to go to Justin's play with Nick. A few hours before I'm supposed to go, Nick tells me he got his car smashed up and can't go. I made a few calls:
Call #1: Tenley. She said she could go. I hung up, very relieved. Then, an hour later, she calls back and said her parents had plans. No Tenley.
Call #2: Nic. Nobody home. No Nic.
Call #3: Matt. Yikes, didn't want to go this route, but I called anyway, seeing as Matt goes to Justin's school and might be interested. He was, of course, rehearsing for his Broadway-bound show in the city and was on a dinner break. He was also, of course, extremely interested to hear that I was looking for a "date" to something. Matt invited me to have coffee with him sometime. No Matt.
Call #4: Michael, out of panic. I mostly called because I was supposed to after I got his e-mail, and it had been a while. We ended up talking or 2 hours, missing my chance to go to the show. Michael asked if I wanted to see his new place instead.

Soooo worth it.
I love spending time with Michael; it's really not a good thing, because he spoils me like no other, and I'm getting very used to it. But he does really make me laugh and make me think and, above all, make me happy. Good line:
"Nicole, you watch American Idol, okay?"
"American Idol is a pop-culture phenomenon!"
"So is herpes."
Zing!
"That's not the short skirt, right?"
"No, I decided against the short one, mainly because I look like a whore in it."
"That's fine; I have money."
Double zing!

Anyways, it was great, and I think I'm going to see "Alfie" with him this weekend.

Sunday: I forget what I did, but it was probably something lame.

But anyways, tonight Kate, Billy, Pat and I were working on the paper, and decided to go out to eat when we felt comofrtable with the deadline, etc. It was such a great time, I can't even say. I love these two kids so much; they make me laugh to no end. Though they are only sophomores, one day I swear we will see their names if not in lights, then in those business columns. They are also Kate and my back-up dates to prom.

Finally: DECEMBER IS COMING!
