Some Questions

Here are some questions I’ve been pondering:

1. In a quasi-agrarian communal anarchist state, would any type of art become a secondary skill? How specialized can one become in such a state, and would this specialization infringe upon the very nature of the community? Would time constraints due to maintaining a sustainable living decrease the chance for exploration through art? Are the current movements in art specifically developed out of our excess of time not devoted to sustenance-labor and the ability to over-specialize and sell the enhanced art product generated?

2. How trapped are we in a capitalist mindset? Is the overbearing pressure of defining one’s “self-worth” through one’s labor a correct way of thinking or is this a form of “capitalist guilt” which the system has developed in order to perpetuate itself? Which is the correct path, to find a place in the flow of events and prosper in the current system, or to try to live outside those rules with the potential for suffering and derision? How does one finally think outside the box when the paradigm, the dream-reality is all you know?

3. Which is the better choice for humanity to make: a stable spiritually-enlightened, technologically-stunted species-culture where we exist happily and are able to perpetuate and sustain ourselves indefinitely? Or an expansive, innovative, competitive tech rich culture that uses a crisis like famine, war or poverty to fuel it’s continuing development at the expense of the environment and the happiness of it’s people?
