who would have thought...
so state board doesnt think im good enough to have my license. which is lame because i think i do pretty all right hair. i passed the written and i was only about 10 points away from passing the practical. i was really pissed when i found out because i thought i did a really good job. but heres my hollywood story...
so we drove there on wednesday and got to west hollywood around 1 ish. then we went and checked out our kits and made sure it was all fine and dandy. then to the hotel. then we hung out and went to denny's. walked around the chinese theater area. went to ameba (sp), the most gigantic music store ive ever been to. it was amazing. they had a "big band" playing there from new orleans. big band as in...tuba/sax/trumpet and so on.
then right below our hotel was this Cafe 101. we went in for some late night ice cream. were sitting at this table and we look to the right and its some guys that do commentary on vh1. for like i love the 80's and crap.
then we come back later. and we see....
april and phil margera, ryan dunn, steve-o and manny from jackass.
then rob met ron jeremy while i was at state board.
back to the whole state board thing. i thought i did pretty good. i ran out of time. and of course when they said i had to come back i was super duper pissed. i was a big cry baby. but i was just embarassed....and because i feel like ive dissappointed everyone.
but now i dont really care. well i do. i tried really really hard... but shit happens, and im sure this happened for a reason. i mean i had SUCH a good time walking around hollywood and hanging out with everyone i went with. i put my feet on samuel l. jacksons feet imprints, sat in traffic forever everywhere, delt with a million un-protected turns at stop lights, ate a chocolate waffle sundae, cut amanda's hait in the bathroom, got lost everywhere..... i met/saw "celebrities", and i know where the cool places are for next time. it was just a really big learning experiance. i wish the test was on how well you did hair...not how fast and clean you can do it. but thats state board for ya. im not going to give up on this. ill still be doing everyones hair, i promise. most likely ill be working at trade secret still. i may ask for a higher position. its just hard to tell the people who were rooting for me the most that i failed. it was a huge slap in the face. but we all need that sometimes.
it hurt.
but i'll be over it soon.
