I guess it's time for an update!
My school year has been very freaking busy.
So, dad is finally home from the hospital, he can barely do anything...but he's getting better.
I got cast as Mariana/Lord in All's Well That Ends Well, our fall mainstage directed by........DEVLIN MANN!!!
He's from the Royal Shakespeare Company and Steppenwolf and has super close ties to Ian McKellan.
And I feel really freaking great about impressing a man like that. 67 people auditioned. It is a cast of 16.
We've been rehearsing this for about 3 weeks now, we had to be off-book tonight, and we open on Halloween. I cannot even explain how this man works. To give you an idea, every night we summersault over 4 people and throw poles at each other. He's very into Grotowski. And my body is broken. And it is AMAZING. He is the most intense, passionate, and brilliant person I have EVER met in my life.
The show is going to be ferocious. It's the only word I can think of to explain it.
I got called back for every play this year. I'm so proud of myself.
One of the spring mainstages had callbacks and I went through two rounds of them.
And I freaking got a lead! I'm Mrs. Shin in The Good Person of Sezuan. She is not a very nice lady.
...Neither is Mariana....Hmm...
I feel like I'm coming into my own so well here.
Gah, I wish I could explain the way I've grown, and changed...but I can't.
And I'm freaking happy as hell for Harrisson. And I miss him!
And I love my roommate and my friends.
And I need to buy new pants because mine keep falling off of me.
