Pink Wellingtons
They started playing their game the day after Gwen wore a pair of fire-engine red flats to work. It was the day after because on the next day, she wore electric blue running shoes. From then on, Jack Harkness and Ianto Jones guessed what color shoes Gwen Cooper would wear each day to work. They were rarely right in their predictions, but it was fun nevertheless.
One January day, it was snowing outside, and that completely threw the two men off of their game. Neither of them had seen Gwen in the snow, and they didn’t know what type of shoes she had for such weather.
“Black snow boots,” Jack said.
“I say she wears her dark purple trainers again. She’s been fond of those lately.”
Half an hour later, Gwen walked into the pub and shocked both of them.
“What are you guys looking at?” she asked as both men stared at her feet.
In reply, all Ianto could do was ask, “Pink Wellingtons?”
