"Father It's Still Me"
by Rickey J Breen

Father, It's still me
I realize I'm not what you expected me to be
Don't turn your chin, I did not change
I did not sin, I'm just the same
Listen to reality

Since a child I've had this secret
Abusing myself, trying to keep it
Everyone, I did deceive
A web of lies, I would weave
I just couldn't quit.

My mind was blind, but always racing
My heart, apart, was always pacing
Eyes in a glaze
This wasn't a phase
My soul was wasting

Before I lose it, start destructing
I'll save myself with soul-constructing
I can't hold it in no more
Rather live the truth, if out that door
Now it's your turn, father... can't you say anything?

It's still me! It's still me!
I know how disappointed you must be
Please don't turn your heart away
I'm still the boy from yesterday
Tell me that you still love me
