Author’s Notes: I was listening to ‘Fantasia alla marcia for piano, orchestra and chorus’ on my KH II soundtrack, recalling the scenes that played during this song when I got the idea for this drabble. I like to think that when the three grew up, they moved to Radiant Garden and alternate between it and Destiny Island.
Destiny Island will always be home. It was where they grew up and lived. They had many memories of the place, good friends and loving families. It was where they started out.
While Radiant Garden will never be Destiny Island and can never ever compare to its warm sunshine, sandy beaches and blue-green seas, they considered it their second home. Ever since they began to commute back and forth the place and their small home before finally buying a house there. They spent half their time there and the other at Destiny Island.
They had friends there and even what they could call a family as well. Well meaning older brothers and sisters who dished out advise, reprimands and who looked out for them, making sure they were well fed, stayed out of trouble and that they were okay. Radiant Garden, more or less, was very much like being back on Destiny Island.
They realized that while they had the best of both worlds - literally - to call home, in the end, it didn’t matter whether they were at one end of the world or on an island, for as long as they were together and had each other, they were always home.
