[There is no appropriate blush icon for Leaf, for she has never really needed to blush for several years. Now though, she's sitting on a rock, staring at the ground. Her knees are drawn up to her chest and her face is incredibly red. Like a Charmeleon. There seems to be no visible cause, and it's not because she stumbled upon a hentai manga

Mel blinks. She's not very close to Leaf, but she knows that this girl is usually running around, very happy and carefree. Rarely does she just sit there, and she's not sure she's ever heard of her blushing before.
"Did something happen?" Her first thought is that it was something in a manga.

Leaf is startled and looks up to see that it's Mel. She's not really talked to her before, and she's not sure if she can even approach her with this subject.
At first, she shakes her head no. Then, after a moment's pause, she nods slowly yes, her face turning redder than before.

Melody sits down next to Leaf on the rock, and debates whether or not to put a hand on her back. After a moment, she does, but very gently; it's almost as if her hand wasn't touching her at all.
"Well, what happened sweetie?"

"N-n-n-n-nothing," she managed to stammer out. Her face was kept to the ground, but it grew more red more quickly as she started to think about it again....

Right. It was totally nothing. That's why you're blushing right now, Melody thought to herself. She didn't say anything, though, and decided to wait for Leaf to speak up on her own.

Leaf continues to stare at the ground.

After awhile, Melody speaks up.
"Hmm... Well if you have nothing you want to talk about, I guess I should leave." She stood up and began to leave, but--

"--wait!" Leaf doesn't realize that she calls Melody back so suddenly, her hand extended, and she seems confused for a moment, looking up at the older woman. After a bit, she resumes staring at the ground, her face still blushing, but she tries to speak anyhow.

"Umm... Wh-when... ....T-that is... um....."

The tongue-tied nature she has now doesn't seem like the normal Leaf, but she doesn't really interact with her enough to know for certain how out of the usual it is.
"Hmm? What is it?"

It was now or never.
"U-um, I uh... when you and Lance are together, how does it make you feel?!"
Well she kind of knows the answer to that, or can guess it at least, but it's not like she knows of any other way to approach the subject.

Mel blinks. And blinks. That was a rather unexpected question.
"Well, hmm...." Melody places her chin in her hand and thinks about the question. She usually never has to explain it, and she usually doesn't think about it, so this is one of the few times she actually has to dwell on it.
"Well, he makes me feel safe. Like I can depend on him, always. He's always considerate and kind, and I really appreciate him for that. And, I don't know. I just feel like everything's alright." She blushes slightly in thought and remembrance, and looks down at the young girl.
"To be honest, I haven't really thought about it. I just feel it, and I know that that's all I need to know."
