I'm going to see Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince tonight!! :D Speaking of that, I really need to get out of bed and get dressed...and it's 3:02pm. I really wish I had the money to get a really eccentric outfit to dress up in! I wanted to go as a quidditch player or something. But unfortunately, my money is going to pay for the ticket.
And here's a haircut photo as promised! Thankfully my hair is long enough to cover the bruise which stubbornly still remains. You can kinda see it on the right side of this picture. UGH UGH UGHHHHHH.
And then I'm heading to Colorado on Saturday, to go to Summit for two weeks. It's like...a religious academic seminar with speakers and...learning. Last time I went I really enjoyed it. However, I feel like a lot has changed since I was sixteen years old and my opinions are going to be veeeeery different than most of the people there, considering I'm:
- Not a republican
- Not against gay marriage or homosexuality in general
- Not against Isaac Asimov or Bertrand Russel or Margaret Sanger or any other atheistic philosopher.
- Not (necessarily) against abortion in a lot of cases
I don't know if going to Summit will further alienate me from the traditional viewpoints held in the church. I don't know how I'm going to sit through a lecture about the ways that Same-Sex Marriage could damage American society, when that's something I strongly support. And listening to things about chosing homosexuality, and how inherently wrong and sinful it is. And oh, the evils of communism and the evils of evolutionary science. I mean, there are a lot of intelligent people speaking, but some of it is quite extreme for...myself...someone with a very "live and let live" mentality on life.
It's going to be weird for sure. That also means I'll be away from livejournal and forums and facebook for two solid weeks! O_O
Sidenote: I'm listening to My Chemical Romance after seeing Heidi (
tricolour )'s post making fun of how ZOMG people used to be obsessed with them. I feel like I'm in high school again when I listen to MCR...which isn't necessarily a good thing...but when it comes to music, it definitely is :)
