Fetch Me the Spirit the Son and the Father

Wooo! It’s October. I forgot to mention yesterday but you were all around so you already knew. Heh. Anyway. I love October. Next to November, October is one of my favorite months. I’m super excited for Halloween this year, and though I’m not 100% sure why I’m sure looking forward to it! I’m trying to think of a good costume that I could use the bridesmaid dress from my friend Stephanie’s wedding. It was a really kickass dress, I haven’t had the chance to wear it again, and I need to!

In case you have a good costume idea for the dress, picture this - black dress with pink pinstripes, boat neck, fitted waist, flared full knee length skirt. Give me good ideas!

Today was relatively busy. Not as busy as it should have been but relatively busy none the less. I like it when there’s lots to do though because it makes the day go by. We just got ID badges and that’s brought about some pretty hilarious happenings work-wise. We got loads of duplicates because no one is keeping track of badges that have been distributed before they get to me (they’re for SECURITY) and no one is double checking that the names are correct or that the person even works here. I totally want to request a badge for someone random from the interwebz. Won’t though.

I love my job. I need to do my self review, actually. Monthly we get to self review and then my boss goes over all of our self reviews with us, so that’s pretty cool. It’s good to have an idea of where you’re at.

Magazine has been tiring. I’m really looking forward to this current issue being done. The front and back covers are a composite of like, 500 Nissans sold in the US and we have one forum for whom nothing is ever good enough. They whined because a car was on the seam. They whined because they didn’t feel like the build coverage stuff was good enough (I’m sure you’re feeling confused by that sorry.) They whined that we should do a cover story on their three most popular cars because “most of the cars the magazine writes about are 350Zs” (which they’re not.) We constantly get comments on how we should run our mag from this site - and they’re NOT EVEN READING THE MAGAZINE. Very frustrating. If we make one minor slip with those guys they’re starting hate threads. If it were up to me I would totally drop them as a site, but alas, we can’t just do that.

Despite the fact that there’s really nothing to link my LJ with the magazine, I won’t tell you which forum it is. Sorry, it’s just not good business. I will say that I just want the dang issue to come out already so I can quit stressing over it, thinking about it, and having to deal with it. I proofed my sections last night though, so hopefully soon.

I called my new/old friend twice in the past two days, left her messages. She has a weird school schedule though so I didn’t take it very personally, but I did decide that I would just let her make the next move. After leaving two voice mails I figured the ball was in her court, besides not knowing her hours and hating leaving voice mails on machines. That was yesterday and today she texted me saying she was sorry, that she was not blowing me off, and that if we could figure out a time to talk she’s call. Tonight she’s in school till 9 again but tomorrow she’s out at 5 so probably then. Woot!

The drama at Brian’s work is pretty much resolved. We think the antagonist is no longer employed there, which, if so is pretty awesome on behalf of his company. He really isn’t happy there though. He has to play receptionist every day from 730-800 and again from 1700-1800 and that makes him pretty much crazy. Typically the phone hardly rings, the service advisors expect him to also play cashier, which is where he draws the line, and it makes for a long day. He also feels it’s demeaning; he’s been doing Nissan parts for over 12 years. No one should be asking him to play receptionist. Besides that he just doesn’t feel like he gets much respect and he finds that frustrating. He really is a terrific parts guy and I can say that without bias. I’ve written service twice with him at the parts counter and he is a service advisor’s dream. He’s got most of the part numbers memorized and can remember almost every price right off hand. He also typically knows if it’s in stock or not. Seriously. He’s got a gift for parts, too bad he HATES IT. I don’t blame him though, automotive SUCKS. I’m not sorry to be out of that industry.

My li’l Betta fish, Nismo, is getting seriously fat. He’s a beggar and it is hard for me to not feed him. His color is gorgeous and he’s got loads of fin and tail growth but he looks chubby. I always figured a fat Betta wouldn’t be so vibrant and active but he’s both. He also JUMPS for the food if you hold it to his little food hole. He’s a pretty neat fish. He’s bright red with some blue accents. He’s going to have to go back on a diet though. I don’t condone fat pets, not even fish.

Koda is getting happier and healthier by the day. It’s been over a year since he was sick, and he’s actually doing quite well, better than he has for a year or so. His protein levels are way up and he’s gained weight to where he’s a healthy weight for his frame. I’m happy to see him so healthy and happy. I’ve been afraid of losing him for so long.

Have you ever thought about what you’re really good at? I have and I come up with either no answers or too many answers. There are too many things I am passionate about, too many things that I love learning about and talking about. It makes it sort of hard to figure out what I’ll go back to school for, but I think it’s going to be political science. I have to like it, and it has to pay me enough to make the student loans worthwhile. Political science would provide both.

Did you hear that they’re making an entirely handwritten Bible? They’re having all sorts of events at churches and whatnot where you can go and write a verse of the Bible. They’ll all be put together and published. I think that’s a really neat idea, myself! I’d totally buy a handwritten Bible. It’d be interesting and pretty to look at I bet.

Someone on a forum posted a thread called “the best bear you’ve ever tasted.” Do you think they mean beer and misspelled, or are they seriously eating bear? He was talking about beer, and misspelled but WOW the eating bear jokes were overwhelming.
