Finally home
After leaving for our vacation on Thursday, June 15th, we FINALLY returned home on Friday (June 30th!). It was 4 days longer than we'd anticipated. I'll update more later but just wanted to stop and say hello.
The trip was fantastic...despite getting lost in the not so pretty parts of St. Louis alone w/4 kids...and we were looking forward to returning home (so ready to get home!) when we learned my older sister's dh (well, they weren't officially married, but had been together 11 years) had died from lung cancer. So, we rushed to St. Paul to be with her. LONG story. He was only 52...so sad.
Anyhow, I am overwhelmed right now. Like in a poor emotional state. I have never been away from home for so long, and I am a wreck looking at all the piles of things that need to be done. On top of it all, my brother from Iowa and his 17yo daughter (and her friend) are coming to visit next weekend. It's the first time they've seen the house, so of course, I want it to look its best. BUT I DON'T WANT TO CLEAN. I just want to sleep. I am exhausted.
