Yes. I really want to do a music degree. You say I'm bright and you don't want that to go to waste, but music is what I love. It's what gets me out of bed in the morning, what keeps me going during the day, and what lets me sleep at night. It's what I do. I wish you could understand that. People say it, but music really is my life. If you don't want me to waste my whatever on something that'll go nowhere, I understand that. Yes, I know. It isn't enough to be good, and I have to be prepared for rejection even when I KNOW I've done a good job. But I don't care. Truth is, I probably wouldn't be going to college if it weren't for music. I can't live without this, and I really don't want to try.
