Rhyming Polanskis 2005 Reunion

Apr 17, 2005 23:00

Last night, the Rhyming Polanskis has a mini-reunion on the Tulalip Reservation. It was just Nathan and I on acoustic guitars. Nathan played lead guitar in the band, and I played drums in the band. The last public performance of these songs was January 30, 1998. The songs we played were (not in this order):
"As Long As I'm With You"
"Beautiful Losers"
"Eileen"
"Easy To Know"
"Know You"
"Comet"
"Holding Pattern"
"Digging A Hole"
"Dry"
"This Is Ours"
"I Over You"
We also rehearsed "No Cheese" and "Gone Just Like A Train" in the back room to warm up. Nathan broke a string, and we did "This Is Ours" minus a string. Then we ended with "Eileen" where Nathan broke yet another string, so we ended. We were also pleasantly intoxicated while playing. The event was Nathan's friend Larry's 60th birthday party. Many there were the "Nathan regulars" who often came to our shows back in the day, and they seemed to enjoy hearing the songs again. Especially our attempts to sing Romeo's songs like Romeo. We started playing at about 9pm and ended just after 10pm. We played sitting in plastic chairs near the bonfire and read the lyrics by firelight and flashlight off of a small iron table.

Anyway, I felt I had to update this journal about it. Must do more shows in the future.
