I have the great pleasure of introducing y'all to....Nico!
Björkkullen's (Have a look at the...fascinating English translations this site sports;) Obviously copied out word for word from the dictionary) Nicodemus, born and registered as Porsche, currently 13 weeks old, is the newest resident of our home! I met him on our way back home from the cruise, when we visited the breeder we bought Luna from. It was love on first sight (he slept in my lap and in my hand the entire duration of our visit!), and after some persuasion I was allowed to buy him:) Nico is the first cat I actually own, as I signed the papers and spent my own money, though at least Casper belong to me in practice. Luna seems to have adopted my mother for good:)
Nico 9 weeks old:
Nico 11 weeks old:
I named him Nicodemus after Nicodemus Ravens, my favourite character in one of my favourite young adult fantasy series, The Shamer Chronicles (
http://www.kaaberboel.dk/) by the Danish author Lene Kaaberbøl.
He's completely adorable! He sleeps in my bed every night, he follows me around, and he's always ready to lie down in my lap. The perfect kitten, actually. Very dependent upon me, of course, which by now has started to be a bit annoying (we got him on Sunday. Drove to Stockholm and back, which took us 11 hours altogether. For now I have to be ready to run after him at a moments notice, for his own protection), and he has a tendency to eat my hair. No matter, I love him:)
In the car:
First meeting with...Casper:
Casper and Nico go very well together! Casper really is the kindest and sweetest cat in existence. He has no trouble tolerating Nico, even when he steals his food. If anything, Casper occasionally seems to be a little bit scared of the tiny guy;)
First meeting with...Luna
...This didn't go quite as well. Luna is extremely jealous, and Nico is in serious need of protection. They have sniffed each other on several occasions, without any incident, but Luna makes displeased noises every time he comes near her. She has also chased him around the house a few times. Their relationship is the only real problem we've had so far.
Luna the Demon:
Now the question is, what will happen when I move out? I'll either have to find somewhere to live where cats are allowed, buy a flat, or temporarily leave him behind. I guess I'll have to postpone that decision until I know where (not to mention what and when) I'll continue my schooling.
Other stuff:
- Lovely new mood theme! Installing it was a bitch though.
- Thank God for autumn break!
