you're the best thing I never knew I needed;
On the second day we went to Brugge/Bruges - however you spell it. It is a magical city, not very impressive when you first alight from the train, but as you walk towards the heart (and soul) of Bruges, you see its quiet beauty. The nicely preserved buildings and snowy landscape really made it feel almost surreal. Which better place to spend Valentine's than in one of the world's most romantic cities? Now I understand why it's such a popular honeymoon spot. It's like you could fall in love, again and again, while strolling along the streets. Then again you'd probably not need the streets to fall in love again and again if you are actually married to the person since nothing else matters, least of all the background right?

I love, love these winding streets and arch ways.
First stop: waffles! Supposedly one of the better tea rooms in Bruges. The waffle's crispy and light... but a little too light! Not enough batter to taste :(
One of the many fries shops that dot Bruges, hell, Brussels for that matter. Bought fries from this shop cuz there were lots of people queuing! You can take a Singaporean out of Singapore but you can't take the Singapore out of the Singaporean heehee X) The fries were pure guilt, plus the generous dollop of tartar = <3. The best part? The tartar is HOME MADE.
Then we went to the city square - similar to that in Brussels. There's a fountain in the middle of the square, and I so wanted to have someone to swing me around and watch the buildings blur.

If you stare very very very hard, you can just make out the huge metal windmills in the far distance. This is I think one of the most fascinating parts of Europe - how the old and the new seem to blend into each other.
I don't usually post pics like this - but don't look down on this plain looking orange ticket because it's the entrance to heaven... chocolate heaven! We went to the Choco-Story Museum + fair, and "luckily" we were there during V'day so there was this mega choc fair. On chocolates... and love. :D

White and milk choc fondue. How friggin awesome is that!!
Choco art! Much as I love chocolate, no chocolate decorates my face. Grosss.

Harmless looking "instant" chocolate fondue that cost about 30SGD each. Ouch.
