Do I post my original story, that I've been working on for a year, on Fiction Press?

It's my baby. I'm terrified of letting it wander the Internet alone...but I need some feedback from, well, people. I want people to read it, to get to know Flo and Thomas and Helen and Victor. At the same time, I don't want someone to take my ideas...
