My Friends,

I believe that Prop 8 is unconstitutional, motivated by fear and hatred, and narrowly passed due to misinformation and deceitful advertisements.

What's more, I find that protest efforts are being undermined by the media.A march I attended last Friday, with a turn-out of at least 20,000 people, has been severely under-reported by some newspapers, who got their numbers way, way off. (Come on... 1,000?)

I know you've heard the arguments before. I can only hope that, with time, those of you who believe that it was right to strip marriage rights from same-sex couples will come around and see the bigger picture. It's only love.

And, for those of you who believe homosexuality to be a sin: may I remind you that you are instructed to Judge Not.

Those of you who also believe that singling out a group of people and stripping their rights does not jive with our constitution or the principles this country was founded on (and, more importantly, is discriminatory and wrong), please join me in protest.

I've listed below some protests that are going on in California in areas where most of my "myspace friends" live. For those of you who can't join me at San Francisco City Hall on Saturday, I hope that you will attend one of the many protests being held up and down the state.

Prop 8 Protest at The San Francisco Chronicle - San Francisco, Friday 11/14 6pm

San Francisco Chronicle, 901 Mission Street, San Francisco

We will be arranging speakers who will talk about proposition 8, and also about why

we aren't getting accurate coverage. We need to continue to protest proposition 8!

The turn-out last Friday was phenomenal and we thank everyone who came out.

I called Supervisor Bevan Dufty's office today and was told that they calculate

that our march had over 20,000 people! That's amazing. But the San Francisco Chronicle

continues to report that we only had 1,000. Our next protest against proposition 8

will be AT the San Francisco Chronicle building.
