Lost and Found

Found a couple little poems in a stray notebook, and I don't remember writing them at all. These are the best kind. I don't claim that these are any good, and I have no idea under what circumstances they were written or when, but I hope you enjoy them.

#1.

In a time when no one knows that they're
fighting for --
And the apathetic youth would rather
completely ignore
The search for truth than be
uncomfortable or bored...

[What have we done? Where has this come from?]

Taken in with gadgets and forgetting
the rest of the starving planet,
We have locked the door behind us
and feasted alone.
We grow fat with ignorance
While they all pay the price.

#2.

The last time we met it was a different
time, a different place, a different life, a
different face

But I know your eyes
And you've known mine
You'll see.

I've danced these steps with strangers feet
Knowing somehow it's still me

I close my eyes
And see that smile
I'm free.

Lightly love, lightly live, love.
Lose yourself to win
Lie down to begin.
