This evening I received the following jewel-like message on Facebook:
Hey we deff dont know each other but I got this thing. Its like this reight, I got this meeting with Theo Koupelis. I noticed you were in the love/hate fan club.
Any way its like this i sent a mass email to my classmates in the class im taking soon and i was basicly like ill do your quizzes for cash.
He's the dean of mathmatics or something and he sent me an email bout something regarding the class. which i assum is that email isent like a dumbass.
Could you tell me abything i ought to know about the guy like is he a hard ass. and also if you want to gimme your opinion on what to say about it liek should i just say it was a joke?
I responded thus:
Tell me if I got this right, because your writing is extremely unclear. You sent a mass email to your astronomy or physics classmates offering to cheat for them. The dean sent you an email and wants to talk to you about the email you sent. Is this right?
If so, you're correct; you're a dumbass. I don't know this dean but if you were in my class I'd request that the professor fail you, at minimum. Welcome to college. We of academia don't take kindly to cheating.
What can you say? Ask to borrow his time machine so that you can go back and undo such a colossal fuck-up. He's heard every bullshit excuse in creation already, so unless you can make up something really, really good, don't bother.
Cheers,
Nepenthe
