Dear
jenbunny , this was written for you. Thank you for always taking the time to drop me a comment, even when I'm only ranting about electricians. :)
There were a million things Usagi Tsukino hated about Mamoru Chiba: his rudeness, his cheekiness, all of his stupid green jackets, the way he teased her about her hair, his laugh when she stumbled and fell while running to school, that Motoki liked the black haired student better than herself, that he could beat her at the Sailor V game with ease and most of all, she resented the way he could make her heart flutter.
When she learned that Tuxedo Mask and Mamoru Chiba were two sides of one coin, Usagi knew why she felt so attracted to Mamoru even though he had never even been nice to her. His cockiness became attractive, his teasing turned to flirtation, his slow and rare smiles were promises to be upheld in the eternal future ahead of them.
There were also a million things Mamoru Chiba hated about Usagi Tsukino: her being constantly late, the useless tears she spilt every time she landed flat on her face, her incredibly stupid hairstyle, the fact that everyone in the Crown Fruit Parlour laughed at her silly jokes, and above everything else, the fact that he caught himself laughing along more often than not.
He never learned to reconcile the carefree Usagi with the strong Sailor Moon, but he came to love them both equally. It was Sailor Moon he fell in love with, but as the years went on, he was surprised to find that it was simply Usagi he wanted to spend most of his time with.
In the end, the love between Mamoru and Usagi was just as strong and as unlikely as the one once shared by Endymion and Serenity in the golden kingdom under the Moon's silver light. When Small Lady was born, the king of Crystal Tokyo told his wife that he wanted to name the child after the person he liked best in the world.
Chibi-Usa carried her mother's name with pride, and she was just as cheeky as she was clumsy, she made people laugh while beating them at video games, she wore her father's green jackets and her mother's hair style, and no-one who met her would ever question that her parents were perfect for each other.
