Title: Stage (Fright)
A/N: AA contribution 2012. Trust me to write an AA story that doesn't fit a single prompt I have come up with over at shitennou_ai. Fail, Lytton, fail. Sequel to Secondhand and Homesick. As always, I am mucb obliged to Charlie: thanks for helping me, my dear!

Oooh yes! I love this verse (does it have a name? If not, it needs a name. This is probably my favorite verse besides On Razor's Edge/Airmail, although I'm sure I'm missing a few more, but I really really love this verse), and I'm so glad we got to see Mina's past. And what a past it was!

It was amazing and devastating. Thank goodness for the fluffy bits (like Joe reserving the green mug for Zach and actually wanting Una to come back :). Joe just makes the world better). What happens to Mina is so horrifyingly logical, even though I kept just wanting to smack someone and say "Believe her, you morons!!"

I love how Mina's character comes across so strongly here. She is alienated from everyone, with family and former friends treating her crappily, but she's such a fighter with moving out, getting a job, calling her father, and adopting the pets.

Please can she and Joe be happy together now? Or even better, can she meet Kunzite and they have (for once) a non-angsty happily ever after? (Btw I was so terrified that David Morton would be Kunzite.) Well of course things will just shake out how they're meant to shake out, but I really hope to see more in this verse :)

Hmm, does this verse have a name? If I ever fully develop it, it would become my medic!fic, but I'm not sure that's going to happen anytime soon (and by soon I mean ever because ORE is a monster epic and eating my brain).

Joe just makes the world better
I couldn't agree more. Joe is probably one of the genuinely sweetest characters I've written, only surpassed my ORE Usagi. He is such a sweet boy, a bit awkward, but really sweet and he does try to be a good friend, even when he has no idea what the hell is going on with the crazy girl upstairs.

Please can she and Joe be happy together now?
I am still not sure if this would develop into a shippy direction... very difficult.

If David Morton had been Kunzite, then there would have been sex. There would have been lots of sex. Also, he would have probably punched his assistant.

In the plans for this verse that I do not really have (am I fooling anyone?), Kunzite would put in a big appearance much further down the line.

I completely understand about ORE eating your brain (and time). It is indeed epic.

Agreed on Joe and Usagi, although ORE Umino is a close third behind those two.

I'll settle for a very distant possibility of eventual Kunzite/Mina happiness. Plus, V would have conniptions if there was suggestion of Mina/Joe.

Ice, how is the PhD coming along? Everything going well?

It's going! Usually that means some weeks it's going well and others not so well... but I finally (mostly) decided on my third dissertation topic (we do 3-paper dissertations in my field) so it's been nice to have a bit more of that decided. Thanks for asking :)
