I think a great part of why I enjoyed being an English major was that as I finished a book, I couldn't wait to discuss it and I knew that I had a room full of people with whom I could converse. I love book clubs too because there's less pressure and usually the books are a little more fun to read. I am semi-involved with a book club right now, meaning I've been reading the books they're reading, but I haven't made it to one of the meetings. If I'm not working on the 26th of January, I'll go to their January meet-up. January's book is Fried Green Tomatoes at the Whistle Stop Cafe by Fannie Flagg. I've requested it and it should arrive at the Oxboro library soon. I've also requested Holidays on Ice by David Sedaris, and The Kite Runner by Khaled Hosseini. It would be great if all three were there tomorrow when I drop off the books I checked out a few weeks ago. I've also requested 1984 by George Orwell, but it's checked-out and not due back for a couple weeks. My goal is to finish the first three I've requested before 1984 is returned.
