If she tried to stuff any more information into her head it might just start leaking out. Which meant that maybe she should take a little break from studying, maybe even get something to eat since it was... oh, wow, 6PM and she hadn't actually managed more than a cup of tea or two all day - how had that happened

Pretty much a given that Shawn would pick up the phone on an evening, take a break from the monotony of all the work piled on him at the center and give her a call.

You wouldn't have thought there was so much paperwork involved in performing miracles. It was a bit of a pain.

And this would be Lana, picking up the phone absently, caught up in the book. "Hello?"

"That's all I get?" Shawn teased, slouching back in his chair with a laugh. "All this distance must be taking it's toll."

"Shawn!" She sat up, knocking her book to the floor and not caring in the slightest. "Hey! Good timing. I just took a study break and it's great to hear your voice!"

"I like my timing, then," he decided, smiling even if she couldn't see it. "So if I'm not interrupting study, what am I interrupting?"

"Reading a trashy romance and waiting for Chinese," she said with a smile. "I'm sure I have enough for two if someone there has developed an ability to transport you across country instantaneously."

"Sadly not one I can commandeer right now." By this point in the evening most of the 4400's had headed off home and it felt a little strange to haul them away to play private taxi service.

"But I can work on that for another time."

"Really?" Her voice brightened. "That would be very cool."

[justmisplaced]

"I can always try," Shawn said, grinning down the phone. "Chances are it'll involve some paperwork, though. Everything seems to. It's... completely ridiculous."

[lovelylana]

"Do they have a line item for booty call with my girlfriend?" she teased. "Or do we have to maek up something that sounds official?"

"Making something up might be a good idea," Shawn laughed. "It might be more likely to get pushed through, that way."

[lovelylana]

"Assistance on some forensic case, maybe?" he could probably easily imagine the grin on her face.

[justmisplaced]

"I think 'my girlfriend has a sick friend, needs a bit of healing' might be a little more believable," Shawn said, snickering at the very idea he might be able to assist in something forensic.

"Girlfriend needs a little sexual healing," Lana said with a smirk.
