Some sort of crisis at the LuthorCorp plant had Lex heading off in a hurry. That left Shawn and Lana free to finally escape up to her room in the mansion. She closed and locked the door behind them, then turned and leaned against it, laughing a little. "Oh my God, I'm so sorry, Shawn! I never dreamed this would turn into hours of interrogation

"Does it make me a bad guest to say, I'm kind of glad he got called away?" Shawn asked.

"God, no!" Lana said. "I was half considering faking a phone call to get him out myself!"

Shawn laughed, obviously releasing a bit of tension. "He's uh, quite something," he remarked. "Kind of intense."

[lovelylana]

Lana nodded. "He is. But he's always been good to me. A little domineering and overbearing, but good."

"But I never would have invited you here if I'd known he was going to be like this"

"He's protective of you. I can get that," Shawn said, moving towards her. "So long as I have the odd break like this, I think I can handle answering a million questions."

She smiled, reaching out to pull him closer. "I think we can make sure of that," she assured him.

"Without you needing to make fake phonecalls?" Shawn checked, a note of amusement in his voice as he leaned down to rest his forehead against Lana's.

Lana smiled up at him. "Mmmhmmm. I know him. Two days away from the company? And a crisis while he was gone? He'll be there or checking in very regularly."

She stroked a hand up his arm. "And I can almost guarantee there's no way he'll be back before morning."

"Interesting." Shawn grinned down at her. "So that leaves us with a bunch of spare time to fill, and a huge damn house to ourselves."

"Mmmm..." she said with a grin. "Whatever shall we do? I think I might have a deck of cards somewhere."

"What's your game?" Shawn asked. "Bridge? Solitaire? Maybe a bit of poker?"

[lovelylana]

"Well, you need four for Bridge and Solitaire's well, solitary... Poker?" she teased.

"Honestly, I don't remember how to play," Shawn admitted. "It would be a very one-sided game."

[lovelylana]

"Then cards are out," she said, rubbing one bare foot up and down his calf. "Any other ideas?"

"None that your guardian would approve of, I don't suppose," Shawn told her, looking amused.

"I'm feeling rebellious," Lana said thoughtfully. "Maybe we should try something like that?"
