"No you’re not!" I shouted, getting angry. "How the hell are you going to make me come here to help you and make me see how fucked up your world is, then decide that I’m going home?! You are an ASSHOLE!!"

"No, I just made a mistake so I’m going to make it right." Kei corrected, keeping his patience, and getting on my nerves even more. The least he could do was get excited, get mad, or get upset…SOMETHING…but he’s always calm and collected. I wonder if Gackt did this to annoy people.

"No, no, no! You did this to make me crazier then I already am!" I snapped, stomping around the room. "I need a cigarette!"

"Yeah? Well so does everyone else in Mallepa, no one’s had a cigarette in over a year." The vampire stated casually, raising an eyebrow.

"You’re just saying that because you want me to go home!" I shouted….right when Sho came back. He was carrying groceries and looking even more cranky.

"Kei, PLEASE tell me you found a spare cigarette. I’d kill for one right now." He whimpered pitifully. I gawked at him, before looking at the blonde. Kei shrugged, and I found myself inches from crying.

"So it’s true then…there aren’t any cigarettes here." I sniffed, feeling tears building up.

"Yep." Kei sighed, patting my shoulder. "So, do you want to go home now?"

"NO!!" I shouted, making them jump. "I’M NOT GOING BACK DAMMIT!!"

"Why not?" Sho asked, tilting his head. "No one in their right mind would stay here if they had an option to leave."

"If what you and Kei say is true and it’s partially my fault that this world is dissolving, then I’m going to fix it as soon as I know how!"

"What if you never do?" Kei asked.

"I WILL FIX IT!!" I roared, wanting to kick the pessimistic geezer out the window.

"And you say that I’M stubborn." Sho mused, smiling at me. I stuck my tongue out at him, before glaring at Kei once more.

"Look Mr. Gloom and Doom, I will fix this problem and I’m not leaving until I do!" I shouted, stomping my foot. Kei looked at Sho, then shrugged.

"Okay." He said quietly.

"….O…OKAY?!" I asked.

"Well what am I supposed to say?" the confused vampire asked, tilting his head.

"…..Nothing." I muttered, plopping on the futon again. Kei watched this, with slight curiosity and worry in his eyes.

"Well anyway, I got some food…some soba noodles." Sho sighed, walking to the kitchen.

"Really?!" I asked, unable to stay crotchety any longer.

"Yep."

"Can we have some now? Huh? Canwecanwecanwe?" I asked, losing my maturity completely. Kei chuckled at this, while Sho gawked at me in disbelief.

"Okay," he laughed after a moment.

"Yaaay!!" I cheered, following him into the kitchen.

"No, I’ll make it…YOU keep Kei company." The human ordered, shoving me out.

"But I wanna help." I whined.

"NO." Sho snapped, kicking me out literally. I rubbed my sore ass and walked up to Kei, to see him reading again. I could tell this book was old, since I do remember reading it in 1995, and it was in rags in the blonde’s hands.

"Is that your favorite book?" I dared to ask.

"Yep." Kei replied, shutting it. "So, what do you think needs to happen to fix this world?"

"…..Umm….uh…er…" I mumbled, blushing slightly. "Well…" The vampire continued to watch me, amusement flashing in is eyes. "I don’t know."

"You don’t know, but you insist on fixing things…how do you do that if you don’t know?" my annoying companion queried, keeping his patience.

"By figuring it out."

"And how do you do that, when you’re too afraid to leave the apartment?"

"…."

"Hm?"

"….."

"You don’t know the answer to THAT one either do you?"

"Kei,"

"Yes?"

"Why are you pressing me?" I asked, glaring at him.

"To see if you really mean what you say."

"I’m not a stupid child you know."

"I know, but you are a scary adult."

"What’s that supposed to mean?" I asked, pouting.

"It means what it means…you’re a scary adult." Kei replied, his patience unwavering. "The situation you find yourself in is frightening, and if I were a human who’s lived the way you have, I’d be scared too, but I wouldn’t be as resolute…that’s only IF you are. Are you Haido?"

I stared at him blankly, before his words sunk in, and I found myself shivering…slightly at first, but then it became violent. Kei watched me, worry painting his face, as my breathing became difficult as if I were a small child having an asthma attack. The vampire stood up and walked over to me, he rested a hand on my shoulder. "Haido?" he asked, worry painting his face. I struggled to speak, to form words, as I realized what kind of trouble I’m in, what kind of stupidity I walked into. A tear of pure fear fell down my cheek, as I gasped. "No, don’t do that. Calm down."

I clung to his shirt, trying my hardest to regain control of myself, but I couldn’t. All I could do was gasp for air, as I silently began to cry. We both slowly fell to our knees, as I found my air, and began to sob into his neck. "I’m sorry, I’m sorry Haido, do you want to go home?"

"No," I wailed.

"Haido you can’t stay here if you’re this scared." Kei pressed, rubbing my back lovingly. "You don’t deserve this."

"The soba’s ready….Haido?" Sho asked, sounding concerned.

"Sho, get me some tissue, and leave us be okay?" Kei ordered quietly, rocking back and forth, cradling me in his arms the way a parent would their injured or frightened child. I didn’t dare look up, as I heard Sho rushing off to do as he was told. "Haido, if you can’t handle this, I’ll take you home…just say the word and I’ll do it."

"Why do you care?" I asked my voice crackling from my sobs. Kei pulled away and took my face in his hands.

"Because you’re so much like Sho, you put up such a brave front and try to be responsible for everything, no matter how hurt or scared you are." He replied, brushing my tears away with his thumbs in a very gentle manner, making me blush. The blonde studied my face, as I felt myself start to calm down. "I’m serious, if you want to go home, just say so…don’t try to stay if you can’t deal with it. I’ll find a way on my own, just don’t-"

"No," I gulped, gripping his shirt tightly just above his shoulder. "I’ll do it."

"But-"

"Just because I’m scared doesn’t mean that I can’t handle it!" I snapped, pulling away.

"Okay," the ancient man sighed, tilting his head. "I understand, and I also promise that I’ll always protect you. You will make it back home in one piece."

"T-Thank you." I stammered, resting my head against his. Kei didn’t even budge in surprise when I did it, he just wrapped an arm around me.

"Kei, I have the tissues you asked for." Sho said quietly, kneeling before us. Kei took them and gently started drying my face of my tears.

"Haido,"

"Hm?" I asked, sniffing.

"Are you still hungry?"

"Yes," I replied, wiping my nose myself.

"Get the noodles Sho," Kei asked quietly, rubbing my shoulder. "Everything will be fine okay? I’m sorry I scared you like that."

"It’s alright, you just wanted to make sure…that…that I could do this." I struggled getting scared again. Kei took me into his arms again, and rubbed my back.

"It’s alright Haido, I’m here." He whispered, helping me relax. Sho came back with my noodles, and gave it to me. I ate my meal, the way a normal person would…since I was in too much of a shitty mood to eat the way I normally would. My two hosts noticed this and before Sho could ask I said

"*Sniff* Yummy." With a mouthful of soba noodles crammed in my mouth.

Sho and Kei both gave me an amused look, before Kei planted a kiss on my forehead, surprising his companion slightly. "Kei," the young human called.

"Hm?"

"What are your plans for tonight?"

"To be Haido’s body guard of course." The vampire replied, looking at me. "What are we going to do tonight?" he asked. Both human and vampire stared at me with questions in their eyes.

I gulped down my mouthful of noodles and sighed in pleasure, before scratching my head. "Um…let’s go for another walk?" I asked.

"Only if you want to." Kei said flatly.

"Can’t you have a say in SOMETHING?!" I asked with a whine.

"I do, I’m your body guard whether you like it or not." The old man trapped in a young one’s body laughed, making me pout.

"That’s it?"

"Yep, that’s it."

"But…I….I…"

"You what?" Kei and Sho asked, tilting their heads.

"Oh fine, let’s go for a walk." I sighed.

"Okay," the vampire said, smiling in a way that nearly made me forget that he was much older then he looked.

In no time we were getting ready for our stroll, when Sho's cell phone started ringing. "Hello?" he asked nervously, before his eyes widened. "How did you manage THAT one?!"

Kei and I both watched, as Sho's eyes went wide, before he started shaking with laughter. "Sho, you shouldn't laugh at people's injuries." Kei lectured, surprising me.

"Huh?" I asked.

"Toshi crashed his scooter and broke his arm...and now he needs someone to take care of him." the vampire explained, while I watched Sho hold a hand to his mouth to hide his giggles.

"Okay, I'll be there to help you into your Jammies Toshi-chaaan~" Sho cooed immaturely.

"SHUT UP!!" I heard the pizza man shout in humiliation.

"Well bye." the young human sighed, hanging up. "Well I'll be gone for a while."

"Be careful Sho," Kei and I uttered quietly, watching him get dressed and pack some clothes for about a week or two.

"I will," he said casually, before leaving. Kei looked at me and smiled.

"So, where do you want to go this evening?"

"Umm....the other places that are left I guess." I replied, as we started walking out.

"Alright," the vampire sighed, taking my hand. "Let's go."

"This place is getting harder and harder to get to," Kei sighed, as we walked into a part of the city that was very small....and missing every way but the way we came. "It's also dangerous."

"I can tell." I murmured, nervousness clouding over me. Hardly anyone was there...I take it that those who were still there, couldn't afford to leave or wasn't healthy enough to do so. "When things started disappearing, did you notice something abnormal before hand?"

"....The first time it happened, I saw something." Kei replied, looking at me. "It was in the middle of a sunny day, when it suddenly grew dark....as if it were midnight. Later that night, the very middle of the city was gone."

"Really?" I asked, gawking at him.

"Yes, but that only happened once...the very first time." Kei explained, scratching his head. "It lasted maybe ten minutes."

"It never happened again? What does that mean?" I asked, scratching my head.

"That's what I'm trying to understand. What happened to cause this?" the vampire asked, blinking a few times.

"I have no idea....but we'll figure this out." I decided, smiling softly.

"Yeah, we will." Kei agreed, when the very section we were on started flashing.

"WAAH!!" I screamed. Kei quickly picked me up, as if I were nothing and hauled ass out of the street, just in time for it to disappear.

"It's getting worse, it used to not happen this often." he gasped, while I clung to him like a life line. "We need to figure this out fast, before..."

"It's not going to happen." I barely managed to wheeze out. Every time this happens it scares the hell out of me. "We're not going to fade away either."

"That's the spirit." my companion whispered, patting my shoulder. "We'll be alright. Ready to go home?"

"Yeah, let's go." I agreed, as we stood up.

Kei took my hand once again, and we quickly and carefully started back to the apartment. I was still shivering with fear, after all...this time was much closer then before. "Are you alright?" he asked, as we got closer to home.

"No." I whimpered.

"Do you want anything?"

"Some chocolate." I whined.

"That's all?" Kei asked, giving me a kind smile. I gave him a pitiful nod, holding his hand tightly. "Alright, let's get some chocolate."

"Kei,"

"Hm?"

"Thanks for the chocolate cake." I said quietly, as we both sat at the small cafe.

"Mmhmm," he hummed, watching me eat happily. "its fun watching you eat."

"How so?" I asked tilting my head. The vampire picked up a napkin and wiped my chin and my lips.

"You eat like a happy child...and sometimes I'm envious of that." he admitted. "I used to eat that way....before..."

"I'm sorry." I said quietly, putting down my fork. "I don't mean to bring back such painful memories."

"It's alright, I can't help it if everything reminds me of who I used to be, when I'm with you." Kei chuckled, shaking his head. "Besides, I enjoy watching you, its fun."

"Really?" I asked through a mouthful of cake.

"Yes," Kei replied. "You're so cute."

"No I'm not." I whined, blushing slightly. I continued to eat, avoiding his gaze. “There’s nothing cute about me.”

"Oh? Well that's your opinion." Kei teased, getting up along with me. He paid for the cake and took my hand again. "Let's go."

"Okay." I agreed.

When we got back home, it was three in the morning and I was very tired. Kei noticed this right away, because he started rubbing my back. "Here, let me get you to the bathroom so you can wash up okay?" He asked.

"Mm," I grunted...not knowing or caring if I agreed or not. Kei led me into the bathroom and gave me a toothbrush. After I sleepily brushed my teeth, I climbed out of my clothes and got in the shower, and tiredly washed up...before staggering out the bathroom in nothing but a towel. Too tired to try to get dressed, I plopped on the futon and fell asleep.

I'm really sorry guys, I thought I posted this a while back, but I guess I got side tracked and forgot.  *Twiddles thumbs* I'm really sorry.
