oh man. Do I drop psychology of religion and take a graduate course in hormones and behavior? It looks interesting - it's neurobehavioral psychology. I emailed the professor (who's new but has amazing credits) to see what he thought and to see if I could get permission into the class (only graduate students or students with special permission can take it) and he said with my background, that he would recommend it.
Ok, so I can do a 5 year masters program at AU (it includes 4 years of undergraduate, so obtaining your masters only takes a year) in psychology. The combined Ba and MA program says that you can transfer 6 credits worth of 500 level classes to your masters from your undergraduate work.
Now, stick with me here. As if this isn't completely boring. If I stay at american:
1. Next semester finish up most of my psych undergraduate work
2. Denmark second semester with fun electives. Yay!
END OF JUNIOR YEAR
3. Summer school for chemistry at home
4. Senior year (even though I will have had enough credits to graduate the year before) - take cellbio, genetics, orgo and physics for the MCAT. That is only 12 credits per semester (13 for second semester because genetics is a 5 credit class). Then I take my two literature classes and finish up my literature minor or take a math class over the summer and two that year instead of literature and do a math minor.
END OF SENIOR YEAR
5. Take the MCAT in the summer
6. Next year: Do masters in biological psychology (apply to medical school)
7. Next Year: Go to medical school!
...ouch.
And I haven't decided yet if I want to do the johns hopkins program - regarding I get in that is. It's small and accelerated, but I could do more for my buck at American probably. Arg.
